I'm very interested in things of mythical nature - especially vampires. So, naturally, I try to collect all things vampire. Books, DVDs, art, etc. However, I haven't been able to find any GOOD Vampire novels other than Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark Series and Stephenie Meyer's Twilight and New Moon. And, of course, Anne Rice's early novels.
Do you have any suggestions?

I'm one who loves vampires too - probably every book I read consists of them. If you like Twilight and New Moon you should like the following that I mention. All are about vamps and include romance. The perfect match I think.
In the Forest of the Night
Demon In My view
Shattered Mirror
(a trilogy by Amelia-Atwater Rhodes. The best one is Demon in my View. I loved this one the most out of the three. There's romance and plenty of characters you'll love. I think you'll appreciate them more if you read them in order. I'm telling you - you can't go wrong with these three. I promise you.)
There's also the Dark Hunter series by Sherrylin Kenyon. This is awesome. It'll have all the vampires you need (sexy ones might I add). Included are all types of myths brought to life and created into fictional stories that you'll love. Read these in order too, it makes it a much easier and enjoyable read. Go to the author's website and she gives like a mini background check on each main character of each book. This series is so good and creative that it's made me wonder if the characters and all that goes on has really happened :)
Maggie Shayne's Twilight Series is awesome as well. One of my favorites. She's a great writer.
You can't wrong even if you pick at least one of the books I've mentioned. Good luck and happy reading!!

regrettably vampire fiction is enormously performed out on the 2d thus far as publishing is going. maximum editors are actually not even finding at vampire fiction through fact the industry has been thoroughly saturated. That pronounced, now's probable not the optimal time to start sending out queries some new vampire identify. the stable information is that various years from now the recognition of vampires will fairly upward push lower back (pun completely meant). Vampire fiction does not would desire to be saved, Meyer's pathetic creations are actually not almost effective adequate to wreck the finished form. purely supply it some years and Twilight would be forgotten and the analyzing public would be waiting to do the finished element over lower back. Cheers.

I'm quite fond of the Anita Blake books. You might want to try Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Mysteries series (it's being adapted into a TV series for fall). Lynsay Sands, Kelley Armstrong, Kim Harrison and MaryJanice Davidson all write vampire series.
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova takes a more scholarly approach...

Stephany Meyer does amazing vamp work in Twilight and New Moon, Dangerous Girls is another good vamp story. Also try the Anne Rice novels like Queen of the Damned and the Vampire Lestat.

Here I a few I've been happy with:
Masquerade of the Red Death Trilogy by Robert Weinberg
Area 51 Nosferatu & Legend by Robert Doherty
A series about wizards but has a bunch of vampire subplots: The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
Also P.N. Elrod did a vamp series years ago. I didn't like it but you might.

You should try "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova. Apart from being a very good novel it also has a lot of historical information about the real Dracula (Vlad the Impaler).

Tanya Huff's Blood series. They're funny, exciting, and don't have the teenage, overly angsty feel of a lot of the vampire books out there. Really fun reading.

Read Charlaine Harris. She writes books about vampires living openly among us; I won't go into details, but I enjoy them. They are easy and imaginative reads. The first is called "Dead Until Dark" and I suggest you read them in order.
