This is a serious question.
I used to own a business that sold really cheap furnature. Everytime we would deliver furnature to a trailer they would have a unicorn collection. You never see unicorn collections in really nice houses.....WHY?

I'm going to say this fully knowing the risks I am taking and the stereotypes I am supporting.

Poor people are pretty obsessed with anything that gives them hope, even if it's not accurate. Unicorns collections, guardian angel collections, doll collections, spoon collections, collection collections...

I'm not saying rich people can't collect these things because they most certainly do, but I think it's mainly a cultural thing, poorer families tend to collect them, then their children grow up poor, too, with the same interests. I own a porcelain unicorn and I love it. It's tiny, and I only own ONE, and I'm poor. Spoon collections are the same way, people who are poor like to have reminders of other places they could be instead of at home. At my house we have spoon from Rome, but nobody knows why, but I sure wish I were there sometimes. Unicorns are from the imagination, a place where you can escape easily and regularly. Angels make them feel watched over and protected, cared for and loved. It's all about dreams, and the form they take.

I have a rather extensive unicorn collection, such as figurines, stuffed animals and jewelry. I've always liked unicorns since I saw movies like the Last Unicorn and Legend when I was a child.

But, I live in a house, have a college education (Dean's List), am well spoken and have a job. So I guess I'm the one who goes against the stereotype.

And the Prescious Moments figurines. They're so creepy.

I think it's supposed to be some kind of status thing. You know, having collectibles. Or maybe it's just that they really like them because they're pretty, in a bland and boring way. (Thomas Kincade is also popular among the tasteless collectors.)

I'd say that people in nice houses don't have unicorn collections because they're more exposed to the arts. And they can afford decorations that aren't tacky.

These are generally collected not by women in trailers, specifically, but by women who live way out in the country, or in fairly rough circumstances. They also tend to collect fairies and angels. I think this has a lot to do with the hardness and starkness of their lives. If you know your old man is going to come home drunk and beat you up, it's comforting to have magical beings around.

No offense, but there are people who live in trailer parks who are cleaner and work harder than people in "nice" subdivisions. Some have a more realistic idea of what they can afford, and aren't that interested in status.

Every one needs a strength to draw on it might be your love in your life a car a will to step back for a second. A time to draw on your thoughts. People who have UNICORNS as their pleasure, draw from them and whats nice is that they are seen every where so its always strength kick.. Tom

Are you saying my trailer is not a 'really nice house' jerk! Your so high and mighty huh? Well, those unicorns protect us from evil magic. That is how I ended up living in a trailer anyway. Evil magic.

honestly? because they cannot afford the really nice expensive things that rich ppl can afford...Poor ppl like pretty things too..and nicknacks such as unicorn statues and angels and such usually come pretty cheap...and most of the time they are very pretty.
