There was a shooting and the victim and witnesses gave the police the perps name and nothing has been done. It has been over three years and still no charges have been brought. Why do you think this happened?

The DA office as been contacted and so has other higher ups. Nothing has been done. There was no lack of evidence becasue there was eye witness reports, they should have followed up and they did not.

It sounds like you have a lame police department sort of like the one in my town, or maybe there is a lack of evidence. I wish you would of shared more of this story with us. Anyway, I know our local police department, frankly, it sucks. It's sad, when we want a job done we have to call the Sheriff's dept.

There are lot's of reasons that are possible.
The veracity of the witnesses might be in question;
The person might have had an unassailable alibi;
Witnesses aren't enough. There has to be physical evidence. If the witnesses tampered with it, they might not listen to the witnesses as closely.
There is even the slight chance that something criminal has happened, but this is VERY rare (the general public has a crime rate so much higher than police officers that it makes our law enforcement people look like saints. That's why it makes the news. News isn't about common things. It's about strange and rare things. Don't confuse it with reality).

Your post gives us nothing to go on and only one side of it.

The victim has no right to insist on ignoring the rights of the accused. It is not a right to insist that someone be arrested just on the say so of someone else. There must be more. Without proof of what the real situation is, I can't guess further. It's like a child's guessing game with few or no rules:
"What am I holding in my hand?"

The best adult response is: "I don't know. Show me" after guessing three times with anything that comes to mind.

Justice isn't served by giving you answers you want to hear that are unjust to the police.
