Yet another attempt to "bait" people huh? Oh and about SKILL, learn American Football and you will understand what SKILL is. American Football is a chess match played out before you if you truly understand the game.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that one. I played soccer until I got to high school, and then I decided to go out for football, but still played traveling soccer in the offseason. I still enjoy watching and playing both, but football is a much more exciting sport. Football is an absolutely perfect sport in every aspect. It involves all different types of athletics - running, throwing, kicking, tackling, blocking... you can be a 300 pound tackle or a 175 pound slot receiver. In soccer, you have to have a certain body type and athletic ability. Most soccer players are between 5'8" and 6' tall. Someone who is 6'5" and 280 lbs would not fare well on a soccer field. Personally, I'm 5'11 and 200 lbs, which allowed me to play both sports with success. I was a forward in soccer and played strong safety in high school and college. Others are not as fortunate to have a build like that. The varying positions in football allow you to be good at football while you may not be built to play other sports.
The flow of the game is what really differentiates football from other sports. The breaks between plays allow spectators to talk about the play, drink beer, talk about recent league news, eat, grab another beer, socialize, or do whatever. Futhermore with commercial breaks and half time, there is always a time for a bathroom break or to check on the wings that are cooking. It's as much about those things as it is loving the sport itself.
Also football is just Americas sport. The environment you have at a big Man U vs. Arsenal soccer game in Britain is probably very similar to what a football game is here. Just insanely intense.

American football is the greatest sport on earth because it takes all kinds of different sized people and different athletic ability. American Football is the ultimate team sport also. I do on the other hand like Soccer. I have gotten into it recently and I don't mind turning the channel to the Fox Soccer Channel to watch a game. What I don't like is the rest of the world being narrow minded and not even giving another sport a chance, that's the problem.

Isn't there an empty stadium you could be visiting?
Some things cannot be trained out of our culture--we like American football, you like soccer. I think we can all agree that NFL Europe was a bad idea.
Good hearted chiding--but seriously, thank you for sending over the David Beckham, he makes me want to watch the guys kick around the field a bit.

American football was a game created by combining the passion of soccer and the intensity of rugby at Rutgers University in the late 19 century. I don't think one can be better than the other if one is a derivation of the other.

I dont think you will have a real appreciation for AMerican Football untill u play it. And play it with passion. Yeah i cant stand watching soccer for more then 5 mins but playing it can be fun. I could watch football all day. Its more then just hitting . Its like a chess game with tons of more action and heart.
SOrry but Football def takes the cake

How is it superior when all you do is kick a ball around the field for however long a game is. An american football player has to have more than endurance to play a game, not like soccer where all they have to do is run around all day. It has to take strength, endurance, heart and passion to play an entire game of football.

Your right in the rest of the world, but in the USA Football not soccer is the best sport, most watched and most entertaining. Soccer is rarely ever talked about untill the world cup.

One thing I do like about soccer more is that it has more action and fewer commercials, but the soccer players flop too much, which gives the edge to Football.
