Last I knew, for a piercing you just needed money to pay. Why would you need your birth certificate and social security number for a tongue piercing.

Maybe somebody can enlighten. I am, after all, 37 years old and have no piercing or tattoos on my body whatsoever. I think that is smart, but. . .

i'm in il. out here you need proof of age to get your first liscense or i.d. so yeah. you'd need you birth cert. i have to say though, think long and hard before you pierce your tongue. i've known a lot of people who's mouths got infected and blew up to the point where they almost couldn't breath. be careful.

You need it to get most state IDs, driver's licenses, social security number, etc... Yeah, you need it. Especially with the current global situation and security and all. You wouldn't want to be mistaken for a terrorist.

I want nice things for me on my birthday...

No, seriously. It's going to be the start of your life as an adult. You'll be in charge of your life and your decisions. And the first choice you'll make is THAT??
What a waste

Do you absolutely need your tongue pierced?

Don't waste your money and put a hole in your tongue. Trust me, you will not care about this in 5 years or less.

Oh, accept when you pass the bolt or whatever you swallow when it comes out accidentally.

Sorry this doesn't answer your question but... People are going to judge you by your "cover." People do that sometimes. Just don't do that. I've always thought that was disguisting. Also no good colleges will accept you.
