FINALLY SOMEONE ASKING A QUESTION THAT'S A BEARS FAN!! YES!
We have the ultimate defense. Ravens don't count. They have only been in Bmore for like eight years. Yes the Pats have dominated numerous superbowls, but it seems ppl are more focused on one player, Brady. Our defense has ALWAYS dominated the NFL and will continue in years to come. Because of D. Hester... our special teams have been put on the map. Yes, our offense isn't that great. But, if it was, watching the Bears would be simply outstanding. There is no better organization than the NFL and there is no greater team than the Bears.
With that being said, the 85 Bears. We even made a video for goodness sake.. only team EVER to do that.

Plain and simple, 1972 Miami Dolphins.
Yes they may have not won dominantly ever single game that year, but the point is they won EVERY game. No matter which way you cut it up, you can't beat perfection. Many people will say they had an easy schedule, or that other teams in future or past were much more talented. There have been many teams with unbelivable talent and easy schedules, yet still didnt win EVERY game. the 1985 Bears were close, damn close, but did they have a perfect season? No, which is why the 1972 Dolphins will, and until a team repeats, be the best single season team ever.

I have to go with the 1972 Dolphins. I am not saying that because I am a Dolphin fan. You just can not argue with a perfect season. I will say though, since I was not born until 1975, that the best team that I ever seen play was in fact, your 1985 Bears. They would have been undefeated, had they not had to play Miami, who gave them their only loss. Sorry just had to throw that last part in. Couldn't resist. The 85 Bears were awesome.

The 72 Dolphins are the greatest team off all-time. Whats better the perfect.......nothing. The 1985 Bears were a great team but they lost games, so that means on those days there was a team better then them, you can't say that about the 72 Dolphins.

The 1998 Denver Broncos Elway threw for 2,806 yards for the season, 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Terrel Davis rushed for 2,008 yards and 21 touchdowns. Rod Smith had 86 receptions for 1,222 yards and six touchdowns. Ed McCaffrey had 64 receptions for 1,053 yards. Shannon Sharpe had 64 receptions for 768 yards. Jason Elam kicked 23 out of 27 field goals and 58 out of 58 extra points. Steve Atwater, Terrel Davis, John Elway, Tony Jones, Ed McCaffrey, Tom Nalen, Bill Romanowski, and Shannon Sharpe made the Pro Bowl That year, i dont beleive there has ever been or may ever be such a solid team as that.....

If your talking about years than yeah the 1985 Bears or the 1998 Vikings 15-1 or the 1972 Dolphins 19-0 (Including playoffs) or the 2004 Steelers who were also 15-1. However if your talking about ever I would have to go with the Steelers. It seems like every year they have a great or even a decent season.

If you look at the numbers it's going to be the 1999 Rams. Their offense was simply the greatest. Trent Green went down and Kurt Warner (a nobody at the time) stepped in and became a star. That's how good the offense was. Torry Holt in the superbowl broke a record for rookies for most TD receptions. Plus, the defense wasn't crap like they are now. Their defense in 1999 can compare to the Vikings defense today, not to bad, but also not the greatest.

What is the goal of a football team?
- Win football games.
What do great football teams do?
- Win football games.
What team accomplished their goal every single game they played?
- The 72 Dolphins
therefore:
the best NFL team ever is the 1972 Miami Dolphins
85 Bears were GREAT....no doubt about it....Second best team ever in my book
and to the moron above me who says last years Colts were the 2nd best team ever "BECAUSE I am a Colts fan!"
.......well.....I already called you a moron, so I guess I don't have anything else to say.
