Dear Soapy-
A clean mechanic! Wow, I have never heard of a mechanic that does not smell or look like GOG, (Gas, Oil and Grease).
He He He!
Here are a couple of products that you can check into. The Fordman mentioned Go-Jo Jelly. That is a really good product and I have used it for years. But there are a couple of others out there too.
GOOP makes a product, their hand cleaner is very good.
Simple Green Hand Cleaner
Fast Orange, (my favorite)
Permatex Water Free Hand Cleaner
ZEP Orange.
The thing I like about the Simple Green Hand Cleaner, is that can be used for cleaning the greasy cover-alls and uniforms. But I would not waste the hand cleaner on the clothes, just use the straight Simple Green with their instructions. Just be sure to run a load of your old "Dry the car off towels" after you do the cover-alls. You could end up with a grease colored blouse if you do a load right after the cover-alls.
I learned that very young in life after my Mother came into the house and wanted to wring my neck after I had done the Uniforms for my work. Yeah, so the car wash towels went into the washer immediately after my load, and we never had that conversation again! He He He! :)
As for in the shower, well any bar soap will do the job, but a little fact here. Head and Shoulders Shampoo has an oil stripper in it, make sure that its the "Classic Clean" with no conditioner. I have been using that little secret for years. I did not believe it until I asked my Instructor what he did to keep clean. Well it works!
I hope that helps you out!

I have always used Lava soap when cleaning my hands--that normally knocks the grease off of my hands, as well as the dead skin cells, leaving a man's hands feeling soft, which is something a loving lady will enjoy. Lava also works REALLY well on the bottoms of your feet as well to help get rid of the rough skin on the bottom. As for the mess in the sink and the tub, its a challenge for a man to remember to run a cup of water or two around the top of the sink to wash the crap down. My girlfriend's way of taking care of that is with a lot of lecturing, finger shaking, choice words and that angry short sigh that women do ohh soo well.
The best thing I found for my oily clothes when I was a bachelor was to wash them seperately in a hot load with laundry detergent, and a non-sudsing degreaser. Your industrial supply or farm store may be able to have something that can help.

My husband used to get covered with grease and for a long time I couldnt get the grease out of his clothes. I finally discovered the best way was with hand cleaner. you can find it in the automotive section at KMart, WalMart or at a parts store. Just rub it in and wash clothes (or your husband) in hot soapy water. Comet or other such scouring powder will work on the sink.

GOOP. Without a doubt this is the best grease-cutting soap on the market. I use it all the time. If used in conjunction with Invisible Glove your hands will look more like a surgeons than a mechanic.

Well being a mechanic I can say for a fact GOOP I have found is the best.
It gets greese off and you can put it on stains in the mechanics clothing to get oil and greese out.

A product called simple orange will clean both your mechanic and any fixtures in which he washes.
