Join a group or club that focuses on things you are interested in or would like to know more about. You will likely find people there that share the same interests as you, so you will automatically start with having something in common. If your high school is of any size whatsoever, they probably have intramural athletic teams, dance clubs, music clubs, yearbook and journalism clubs, Future Business Leaders, Farmers, and Homemakers of America clubs (FBLA, FFA, and FHA), chess clubs, science clubs, etc., etc., etc. Pick a couple and go to some of their meetings, and see what "clicks" for you.
Then, the best way to have a friend is to be one. Think about what makes you feel special and valued, and then do that for others. Most people are flattered when you pay attention to them, so ask them questions - be curious and interested in their answers, etc., and try to watch that you aren't always trying to turns things back to "me, me, me." You can ask things like, "How did you come to be interested in [whatever]?" or "What do you think the best thing about [whatever] is?" Try to ask questions that require a thought-out answer, as opposed to just a "yes" or a "no," and then really listen and think about the answers.
Also, smile and be happy. Like attracts like - so if you are happy and pleasant to be around, others will be attracted to you and be happy and pleasant to you, too.
This is a big change - there is a world of difference between middle school and high school, but everybody goes through it. It may seem like a huge deal now, but once you are on the other side, you will see how small a percentage high school life is of your total life experiences, and realize that you worried a lot for no reason. Everything will work out fine, if you can just relax and try not to push too hard (you don't want that stink of desperation "BE MY FRIEND NOW!!!" funk on you....).
Hope this helps. Good luck!!

Maybe this is your way to start fresh. I know going into high school is scarey but you seem like a sweet girl and Im sure you will make friends easily. Join some clubs and be nice to everyone. If peple ask questions just tell them that you were sick and now your better and back in school. People will always have their own opinions about everything, just try to make the best of it and you true friends will still be there.

Just be yourslef. If anyone asks what happend, or where you went, just tell them the truth. If they don't believe you then you don't need them. But because you will be just entering high school, there is going to be A LOT of people who don't know you. So therefore it's going to be impossible for you to make new friends. There are going to be all these different people you have never met in your life, who know nothing about you....you never know, maybe one of those people will end up being the best friend you have ever had. But like i said, be yourself...don't try to fit it. Beacuse if you do that, people will like the person you are really not...and not the person you really are. If you met someone who likes you for you, that right there is a realt/true friend! Good luck to you sweetie.

Just be yourself and don't be afraid to put yourself out there. School can be hard if you keep yourself closed off. Get into sports of clubs, do the extracaurricular activities and have FUN!! High school should be a great time in your life!!!

Just be you.
Express yourself.
And if they dont like you, then you can never trust them as friends. Watch out for boys, they are cute yet dangerous.
There atleast has to be some one that's your friend in 9th grade. Your askin a question to a 4th grader, trust me your gonna be fine I survived 4th grade.

try to be as nice as possible and don't worry about the cliques or any possible rumors etc...besides there will most likely be lots of new people for you to befriend....find a hobby you really like and you will eventually find friends easily...give it some time though =]
good luck

just be yourself, be open and friendly and when you're walking through the hallway, smile and talk to people, no matter who they are.
being open and confident will go a very long way in getting you friends, and the only people that matter are the true friends anyway
