It's a question, don't get offended. It just seems like everyone is so thin-skinned nowadays. I feel like I can't even say "Achilles' heel" with out some long lost relative of Achilles wanting to slap a lawsuit on me.

Do the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many?

I think people should be polite and not go out of there way to offend people but at the same time we have freedom of speak for a reason...

You should be able to say something without having to explain yourself...

If your offended don't listen....

Sometimes it seems that people are looking to be offended...
they'll take something that wasn't meant to offend someone and warp it so far out of context that it will become offensive..

I would have to say both.

How it helps: it makes people think before they talk.

How it harms: We now have SOOOO many closet racists..i would like to know who is who...back in the day if you didnt like a group of people because of their race you just came out and said it..now people just hold it all inside and when they start to drink or got the Imus bug they just blurt it all out because they been holding inside all these emotions.

2. It harms because when someone is truly being biased, they can jut say "i hate you guys are so PC" ..

Also they get a chance to use this neat little abbreviation:

"you are so PC"

" i hate those people they are being too PC"

....isnt it a cool little blurb?

Well, for the sexist, the racist, and the generally prejudiced, it is like the strategic deployment of air bags in the tactless vehicle of their mouth and mind--you never know how bad you need them until they save you from that impending wreck on your daily drive...

...either that or let your lawyer dig you out at twice the price of respect and decency...

It is never a bad thing to respect and be considerate of others.
