What proportion of feminists are fat bespectacled lesbians?

Just wondering. That's the stereotype anyway.

Here's a feminist (Ashley Judd):

Kind of belying the stereotype, eh?

And another:

And another:

I would venture to guess the stereotype began because probably most "fat bespectacled lesbians" are feminists, but not the other way around.

Not sure that feminists exist to the extent that most people think. If one says anything bad about men, apparently that automatically makes one a feminist. As the stereotype goes, they come in all shapes and sizes... some have perfect vision. Shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. I'm guessing that's a man's stereotype anyway?? Hmmmm.

I've always had bad eyesight, part of being born premature in my case. I'm actually only the size of the average US 11 year old, if even that, and I'm 25. I'm often mistaken for a young teenager, so I make sure to keep some form of ID with me at all times, regardless of where I go. I have spiky hair (a Japanese style that works great for my hair type,) although I did have it long for quite a while. I donated that to Locks of Love.

Orientation-wise, I'm straight with a particular liking for Francesco Totti, if it's all the same to anyone.

In my case, the stereotype doesn't hold water.

I'm not exactly a feminist, but I don't believe in female slavery, a relationship is a two-way road, you know? My mom kind of was back in the 70s, though. Not anymore though. She's always been really cute and little, and didn't have to wear glasses until she was about 40, and is really stylish. She isn't a lesbian, but she's had several of them hit on her, which is sort of odd... and one was a feminist!

I for one am not a fat, bespectacled lesbian - but I am a feminist nonetheless.

I hold a professional job outside the home. I speak several languages well enough to travel freely. I play a musical instrument, cook gourmet meals, decorate like a pro and entertain with the best of them. I can drive a backhoe, bulldozer and operate a crane. I can weld, pound nails, break and train horses, string fences. pay taxes and vote.

I feel a woman has a right to the same pay for the same work.
And I wish I could take a more active part in my church - which doesn't allow women to speak at the altar.

Oh and I'm straight sexually speaking. I have sensuous curves, creamy skin, long legs, firm breasts (still) and long flowing brown hair with auburn highlights. I truly enjoy giving great head. My current lover enjoys being with me because I'm still nice and tight despite having had children.

A stereotype is just that, a stereotype....a few generalizations that people think apply to al, yet usually far from the truth. I am petite, blonde and busty, yet college educated, civic minded and a sports lover. I don't fit in the stereotype of a femanist however I do consider myself one becuase I believe in equality of the sexes...plain and simple.

Very little. What extent have stereotypes ever been, anyway?

Wow! tonalc1---> Ashley Judd is very unattractive all of a sudden.
Nothing in life is 100%, but we have stereotypes due to conditioned response(read about it in psychology). We're all products of our senses(or environment).

Very very low percentage are fat or lesbian, in my experience and opinion. The glasses might be disproportionate, though....but big deal.
