No, you want to be as professional as you can. Don't lie, be honest because the theater world is a small one and it can REALLY bite you in the ***.

Hi,
one of the best books I can recommend about putting together a resume is: Acting As A Business: Strategies For Success by Brian O'Neil. He tells you not only how to set up your resume, but how to build it with your work so that casting directors and agents will be interested in you.

No you want to stick to the facts. An acting resume is basically like a regular one. But you put your stats at the top - height weight, hair color, age range. You use your experiences, including any companies or directors you've worked with, any training and any special skills. (That you could use in jobs you're trying to get. Not like how you're a great cook or something. Unless you are trying to be host of a cooking show.) And don't forget you need a current, professional photo.

Directors think that when you are funny on your resume, you are not serious about being in their show, play, movie, etc. The best thing to do on on your resume is be neat, and clear. Make sure you can fit your experience on one page, because directors do not like having to turn pages. You also need to put a head shot on your resume. Don't use paper clips staples, etc. The best thing to do that Willl impress a director is to have a resume professionally done.
*But the most important thing that directors wil want to see on your resume is experience!

The résumé should NOT be funny, unless you have no interest in being a working actor.
Ask your actor friends how to write a résumé, for the city where you live. Résumé styles are NOT the same in every USA, city. Ask for a sample résumé.
Your acting résumé is the same as a "day job," résumé. Would you be funny if you were submitting your résumé for a straight job? Think about it.
Don't be funny. You have not met the person reading your résumé. He or she may be offened, becuase you do NOT take the industry seriously.
Roles, character, name of theater, name of Director, etc.
Google actor résumés, you will find many.
Do not apprpopriate the résumé style of another person.
Create a professional résumé

There is a somewhat standard format to acting resumes and any attempt to be funny or unique will be view as amateur and unprofessional rather than comical

No, it is not ok. This is how professionals know what you've done and this is a representation of yourself to them. If you put jokes on your resume that's what you will be taken as.

ok I've been an actresses for about 5 or 6 years. my mom won't put me in an agency either. Just don't go to John Robert Powers or anything like that. and your headshots shouldn't be that expensive. my mom usually takes mine but you can just go to kiddie kandids or something like that. Thats where i got my first professional one done. and just be patient. thats something really important. Break a Leg!

If you were ready to work professionally you would have known the answers to every question you posted. You've said you've been acting since you were one year old. Now go and get some PROFESSIONAL training and actually learn something.

I find it hard to believe that you've been acting since you were one years old if you have absolutely no clue what to put on your resume.
OF COURSE YOU SHOULDN'T BE FUNNY!
