I disagree with everyone that says we should look past at what he has done and look at the accomplishments he has achieved in the past. I have a VERY hard time looking past an innocent murdered child! I don't care if the man found a cure for cancer...I would not attend his funeral, I would not honor him in any way, shape or form. He is the lowest form of scum bag imaginable! There is not one excuse out there to condone his actions. For every excuse you come up, I can give you two reasons why it's not acceptable! And yes, if my best friend did the same thing...I would react the same way. I don't feel sorry for him in any way. And if by chance he really is innocent.....oh hell, he really isn't so I won't even go there!

This is a difficult question. You have to think what it would be like if you suddenly found out your best friend committed such heinous crimes & took his own life. Undoubtedly, you would be hurting inside. You know what this person did was an atrocity that his wife's family can't forgive. You know his family is racked with grief, & still love him even though he did something so horrible. Depending on your religious faith, you may believe he's burning in Hell at this very moment. All this would be a horrible burden to bear. If it were me, I would have a hard time going, because I would feel betrayed by my friend. I would feel like he let me down, & made a fool of me for telling everyone what a great person he was, only to have him prove me wrong. I would also have a lot more difficulty coming to terms with his death, because part of me would want to still care, while part of me would likely hate him for what he had done. I think ultimately, I would go if for no other reason, to support & comfort his family, who I knew were suffering worse than me, & would be grateful for my presence.

I would go just because I knew Benoit and if we were friends most definitely I would go. If he was a nice guy to begin with, then I would overlook what he did. People are wired differently and people snap. It doesn't mean he needs to be raked through the coals because of this incident. Look at Ray Lewis who murdered three people, but people look at him to be the best football player around.

Yes, because A) if he did do it then I would remember he's accomplishments prior and B) if he didn't do it I would feel really bad about not going.
I still say it's up for grabs as it what is really going on. I just contacted the hell out of all major media outlets (as I continue to do) about the latest screw-up pertaining to the case.

I would go...If he was a friend you would have to for his other 2 kids and show them support and respect him for his friendship and everything he did for the sport, and if you didnt go and something comes out that he was murdered too then how would you feel?

You remeber someone for how they lived their WHOLE life, not just how they ended it. I don't agree with what he did, but if I had some good memories with him I would go and pay my respects.

You would be going to the funeral not for him, but for his remaining family. Though it would be hard, I would go for that reason alone.
