I was in a relationship with a Mexican and I am Black so you know that was a culture shock for them. Although, I had a bad experience with his family I don't view the whole culture as racist. I think some are racist and some are not.

I know how ya feel and I've wondered the same thing. My husband is from Mexico... he's all Mexican...Not to mention... Tall, Dark and Handsome. When I get around the Mexican women they all give me go to hell looks and do not talk to me like I've taken something that belongs to them away or something. Hell you would think with all the racism people show they would be glad to see a gringa that looks at them as equal. But I know that in the eyes of god we are all equal so I don't care what they think any more.

Many are but not all. Personally many of them like for their children to marry Mexicans. And their is some racism within their own ethnicity. Many Mexicans will not accept their Mexican son or daughter marrying a Puerto Rican. I have many Mexican friends and they've told me about this.

Sure it is easy to point out Mexicans because of your experience with a couple of them. Then why is everybody who has something to say about Mexicans dont look within their own culture you think you all perfect and racism dosent exist within your own people. Racism exists everywhere from every culture now I'm not saying every person in every culture is racist but their is always a percent that they are. I've been descriminated by some Anglo people, I've been discriminated by some African American people, Even some of my own variations of latin people Racism is everywhere and dont say it is not true cause look at the news thats all that comes out of the news.

Honestly, I know a lot of Native Americans and Whites who would have a very big problem if someone in their family married outside of their race. That is one of the main problems in this world today. Most races have negative images of other races and the intolerance has grown into hate and racism.

When I was in the eight grade, I used to walk home every day from school with a Mexican girl who lived a few houses from me. She was my true love and I was hers. One day as we reached her house, her dad came out and told me, "I don't want no white boys hanging around my daughter." She apologized to me the next day for her dad, but we never walked home together again. I agree that Mexicans are worse than whites or blacks when it comes to anything that they don't perceive as benefiting them. ...and how can you not take it personally, it is personal. PS: God Bless Texas!

While quite plausible, I personally, have a hard time believing your story. But then again, I'm seeing it from a Colombian (myself) perspective. My culture is not like this at all. We have nothing against intermarriage whatsoever. My parents would not give a rat's tail where my wife is from. Maybe it's just Mexicans, but most Latinos are not like this.
