I got divorced in Princeton Illinois six months ago.Seven hundred. The x-wife and I were in complete agreement about the asset division.Children were old enough that that was not an issue. We both used my lawyer. We still help each other out and go fishing together, eat out sometimes. It does not have to be a knock down dragout battle. That only cost both more.Feel free to e-mail me if you wish to talk further. The seven hundred was total cost for both of us.Three fifty each.Sorry it has come to this for you.I hope better times are coming for both of you.

The total cost would vary according to how complex the divorce is. If uncontested usually around $250 plus filing fees. The county clerk can give you the cost of fees. You have to consider the cost of a lawyer and if there are custody issues as they affect what you would have to pay.

Call your county courthouse to ask what the filing fees are... I actually worked with my atty to move to a county where the filing fees were less than the county where my EX and I had lived.. also could contact one of those free consultation attys listed in yellow pages.

Talk to a lawyer, You can only get a civil annulment if you can prove fraud or the marriage was not consumated. Sex before marriage and then none after doesn't get you an annulment.
