we cannot leave, otherwise it will be genocide/civil war. if we stay, it is still genocide/civil war. Israel could be faced with another war, just similar to last summer. How do you think we should settle the tensions in the middle east and come to terms with the muslim culture that is so bent on the destruction of infidels?

I am not convinced that the Iraqis and Middle East in general does not want more war and violence.

I say we institute a nationwide conservation/alternative energy plan and eliminate our dependency on the Middle East. When we cut our ties to the region, its none of our business whether they want to behave like 12th century savages.

The best solution would be for us to leave immediately and let them fight it out amongst themselves.

I agree--we broke it so we should fix it, but why try to fix something when a majority of people, both there and at home, don't want us there anymore? Better to take the lesser embarrassment of leaving than to stay in a losing situation and waste more lives.

If anyone in that region wants us back, then they can sign a contract officially stating their desires and they can PAY us first; either oil or money will suffice.

Israel being faced with another war....well, the grudge match between Israel and the Palestinians is very old and very personal. There will never be peace between those two groups, so they should just fight it out to the finish once and for all and the winner gets to keep the land.

If Israel wants our help fighting a war...then they can darned well pay us, too.

Honestly? Declare Martial Law. Have curfews at night, outlaw all weapons, and have regular raids on suspected insurgents and terrorist hide outs, and offer cash rewards to civilians willing to report terrorist activity. I think we should also establish semi-permanent bases in the North to act as a deterant against Iranian agression and to launch special forces operations into neighboring countries where we KNOW the terrorists are training. Iraq is OURS. It's about time we start using it to our advantage to stabalize and police the region.

1. every country in the ME must separate church and state (incl Israel)
2. every country in the ME must give voting rights to all citizens over 18 or 21
3. every country in the ME must outlaw milias associated with political parties

These 3 things will ensure peaceful transistions of power, which stabilizes the country, AND gives political power to women, without destroying the traditional cultures in those countries.
