Nonfiction

The following are all by the same person.
They will tear at a person's heart.

A Child Called "It"
"The Lost Boy"
"A Man Named Dave"
"Help Yourself"
"Help Yourself for Teens"
"The Privilege of Youth".

Dave Pelzer entered foster care at the age of 12 due to the severe abuse he endured at the hand of his alcoholic mother. The abuse became so terrible that she actually started referring to Dave as an "It," instead of a child, her son, or Dave. This was the worst abuse case that California had seen at that time. At the age of 18 he aged out of the foster system and joined the U.S. Air Force.

I loved "Where the Red Fern Grows" and "Marley and Me" they are both books that have dogs in them. Also, John Grisham is an excellent writer, I read "The Last Juror" and really enjoyed it. Another book I read was "White Oleander" by Janet Fitch and it was pretty good as well. Happy Reading! =)

I'm about to start Run Softly, Rachel. It looks good.
And I LOVED the Loosing Christina trilogy by Caroline B. Cooney.
But these are teen books soooo....yeah. I don't really know how old you are. But they were probably the best books I have ever read!
