Obama will rack in over $100 million. Let's say he only spends $80M (he's going to loose anyway) . Can he pocket the other $20M?

There is no requirement that they return anything that they don't spend, but there are limitations on what they can do with it. They can pay themselves a reasonable amount for running, but that would be nowhere near 20 mil.

Typically, they shift it into another of their own campaign chests (Obama would likely put it into his Senate race fund), and they often give some to whoever actually wins the nomination to help their party out, though they can't give a whole lot that way.

Still other potential recipients are general issue PACs (Political Action Committees), who use it to lobby for anything from abortion policy to grant money for non-profits or research projects.

No, but you can be like Nancy Pelosi, whose husband is on her payroll, and she pays him with her campain contributions.

Read Dick Morris' book, it isn't just democrats, there are dems and republicans who do this, Pelosi is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

You're kidding, right?

BTW, he might lose, but I doubt he will loose.
