Yes! There is a double standard. That double standard is that the politicos are not truly held responsible for their crimes as are ordinary citizens. The U.S. government has morphed into a patrician oligarchy which thinks it can govern by fiat, rather than through obedience to the same laws which bind ordinary citizens. It's time that the power for presidential pardon be removed from their hands, because it obviously is being abused. Beyond that, it's time for all thinking Americans to begin seriously reconsidering the role of both major parties in our country's government. Since both seem to think they can behave with impunity, a multiparty system is now called for - a party which is responsive to the people and which doesn't seek to perpetuate its own existence at all costs and through whatever unsavory means it can contrive, including but not limited to collusion with and funding from Corporate America.

You're correct. Dems and liberals believe that the law doesn't apply to themselves.
LIbby's was another "lying to authoities" case like Martha Stewart from what I can tell and didn't warrant that outrageous sentence. Clinton also lied under oath and they didn't do a thing.

Politics, politics, politics. It is a shame. There is always a double standard. I am sure, however, that next time there is Dem Prez we GOPers will hold a double standard about something also. It's just the way it is, but I don't like it.

Who pardoned him = Clinton the only president to wag his finger at us and lie at sametime.
Clinton himself was given a freeride because our senate was split 50/50.

It's not a good scene when the only defense for your actions is that other people did it too. If the GOP was acting with integrity in the first place, they wouldn't be having to make excuses now.
