Since I keep getting the excuses that Clinton did the same things Bush did, are you happy that you elected another Clinton? Are you happy the best you can ask out of your leaders is that they are no worse than anyone else?

hey truth, 9/11 happened on Bush's watch, NOT clinton's. Nice try. Maybe you should trademark your name, so you aren't held to it's definition.

I wasn't going to comment on this subject, as I have no desire to defend either Bill Clinton & George Bush. I oppose all corporate whores who wage war on the American people as the 2 snakes in question have
But that post by "truth"....I've taught severely developmentally disabled individuals who had more cognitive abilities than "truth". Read his words...he says nothing....and you can just feel how proud he is to fart out his words that say nothing.
There has to be a point where the idiots stop talking and start learning…so that one day the stuff that free-flows from their mouths isn’t garbled corporate propaganda laced with ignorance, topped with racial/religious intolerance. There has to be a point where the spin verbiage of a grown man speaking on a 4th grade level doesn’t quantify as anything more than pus-filled jingoism or proof of severe head trauma

I find the whole affair distressing, but not surprising in the least. I did figure that Bush would wait till the end of his tenure before doing it though. What distresses me most is that people are no longer able to properly recognize a crime in this country. Libby and Clinton both committed the same crimes, but like warring factions the Liberals and Conservatives are lining up to defend their favorites. It's sad really. A crime is a crime and if you commit one you deserve to be punished. Further in the case of crimes like perjury there are no degrees of severity. You either lied or you didn't.
The broader answer to your question is that both men (Clinton and Bush) have become embarrassments to the American people and no I am not satisfied. I fear that we will never again know true integrity from our leaders and it is just frightening to know that people are okay with that so long as it is a person voted in by their chosen political party.

actually the best we can do is show that Fitzgerald knew armitage was the leaker and yet he initiated the investigation and put Libby on a 6 hour interrogation to see if he could keep his story straight about the leak. But since you people wont accept the facts of the case what else is there to do but point out your hypocrisy to boot. As soon as the majority party even interrogates Armitage for his dealings I will take them more seriously but to ramble on and on a bout someone who may have known something instead of going after the person who did it shows NO ability to understand or debate the true underlying issue

Wow. I think you're missing the point. We're not claiming that Bush is doing the same thing Clinton did. We're saying that the people that Clinton pardoned (which Libby wasn't pardoned, by the way) were worse criminals than Libby. Some of them bought their pardons through campaign contributions (Like Marc Rich), which is quite different than commuting the sentence of a man that worked with you to serve his country, but slipped up by forgetting a few details on a story that he was telling secondhand.
There was NO crime committed with the outing of Valerie Plame, and it wasn't Libby who revealed her identity in the first place.

No. I view terrorism as a very real threat.
And I view Clinton's approach to the problem of Saddam as too weak.
And you will not generally see me bring Clinton into the current debate. But it is not easy, believe me. I just recognize that many other users are younger than we are and all they know about Clinton they heard from their parents who thrived economically under Clinton.

Good question
Sometimes it sounds like 5th grade here
Instead of having a communication on what is happening now
people resort to well Jimmy Carter this or Bill Clinton that
2 wrongs don't make a right
We will see how many people Bush Pardon's on his way out.
not fair to compare Clinton's pardons to W until he leaves office

It is like a Democrat trying to lower others to your level. Bush has kept you safe which the same can not be said about Clinton. I am happy Bush has done his job and not played with little girls like Clinton.

Actually, yes, that satisfies me. You get a lot of Dems saying Clinton shouldn't have gotten in trouble for lying about something that wasn't important. If they believe that, they should stand behind it. I think Clinton should not have lied under oath. I believe that Libby should have gone to jail for lying (not under oath) about something so stupid. He didn't though and I can't see the Dems being upset about it.

I'm afraid that is all we have at this time, hichefheidi. There is no politician who is prospectively running for office that is obviously better or worse than any other. That really is a shame, too.
