Why are we in debt, when we make our own money?

I think you might want to take another look...I for one want our government to have secrets...I want them to know more than I know. I want them to have Aircraft...Munitions...and plans beyond that which ANYONE in the world has....How else can they protect us??? I don't know and I don't want to know....
Now look at the whole money thing...We can get all of the oil from anywhere we want to....All of the goods (And tea) in China and anywhere else in the world....And all we have to do is print up more worthless paper . Pretty good scam!!!
To the person that answered above, the paper money is backed with NOTHING!! It can be printed in what ever amounts we want to just by increasing "the debt".

Because its a republic...a republic is a government people basically hire. A democracy is made of the people(run by the people). A republic is made by the people(not run by the people). Thats why its secretive.
We're in debt becaue of overspending. The government can't just print more money because the new money would cause all money to have less value.

Who says we're free. The patriot act has cut into our freedoms. We are slaves to the corporations and the governent.

because the country so free only is so good because of terrible things we have done, so the goverment hides the bad things they have done
