Contact the lender and get current and/or a payment agreement and keep it.

Only way out..

First way to stop student loan wage garnishment is to pay your student loan. You make payments, they don't garnish.

Second way is to call them and work out a deal. You offer to pay what you can and (hopefully) they accept your deal.

Student loans, because they are government programs, are generally immune to bankruptcy so that isn't an option.

Anyway, it's a debt you incurred so you need to make room in your budget to repay your obligation.

Didn't you just answer your own question?

To stop wage garnishment make a payment arrangement with the SL company.

By paying what you owe - or by making arrangements to pay regular payments and actually making the payments. Otherwise, they can garnish your wages. You borrowed the money - why should you not have to pay it back?

You need to contact the Student Loan company and settle an arrangment. You may want to consolidate if you have many lenders.

Good luck !
