My wedding rings because they mean too much to me-keeps me connected (& out of trouble!)
And I wear a cross necklace that I have not removed since it was given to me except for when I had to have surgery. My husband held it in his hands for 8 hours while I had a kidney/pancreas transplant. He gave it to me when we found out that I had to go on dialysis.

Well, only to take a shower, and then right back on. It's a silver chain with a natural aquamarine crystal in a silver sheath. My Steve designed it himself, and gave it to me not long after we met. He said he went to a lecture given by a woman knowledgeable in the magical significance of crystals, and asked her what he should buy. She said he might find an aquamarine useful, and so he bought a nice specimen and made it up as a silver pendant. When we met, he discovered that aquamarine was my birth stone (March), and he decided that was what the wise woman had meant. We were together over 20 years. He committed suicide on December 16, 2005, but I still honor his memory, and I will always wear my aquamarine.

I never took off my wedding rings for 20 years. Then my husband passed away so after 4 months I finally was able to take them off. I have a permanent imprint of them. I also have my cross on my gold chain that I wear every day. Can't leave home without it.

It's copper. Copper oxidizes on the skin, dying your skin green. It's only indicitive of cheap jewelry if the jewelry was advertised as, say, gold. In that case, it's actually PLATED in gold, but is copper underneath. And when worn for a while, the gold plated will rub off, and the copper will be exposed. RESPONCE TO YOUR ADDITIONAL INFO: Sorry... looks like you got dooped. Gold doesn't turn your skin green. It must be copper underneath. Especially if it's only recently, and you've had it for a while. The gold plating has started to wear off.

I have a small rope necklace with a small cross. I only take it off when I take showers. A very special friend who is very religious gave it to me about 3 years ago. I heard when good people give you gifts hold on to them. So I wear my cross piece and chain as my good luck charm.

Hmmm...2 things...well, actually 3.
1. Wedding band, for obvious reasons... ;-)
2. A pair of earrings which are the chinese symbol for Love (it also happens to be the symbol for my name in Chinese, since my name means "beloved"). I don't take those off because I don't want to lose them, and they are in the second set of piercings, so I can still change the earrings in the first. TMI?? ;-)

My nose ring, and my earrings (except for cleaning, of course)

Reason -
My earrings are like a security blanket to me; for as ong as I can remember I've earrings on.

My nosering was a gift to myself when I hit 30, it's something that I've always wanted when I was a kid, and once I finally has it done, it became just as much a part of my face as a freckle.

My engagement ring, I'm terrified I'll lose it. Haven't taken it off since March 27, 2007
