I have a book called Making Animal Quilts: Patterns and Projects by Willow Ann Soltow. This book has a Noah's ark pattern with the ark in the center and the animals around the quilt in the border. It is done in applique but the patterns can also be embroidered. I am sure if you do a search on this book you can find a copy. Hope this helps.

There are lots of good patterns of animals in "A Quilter's Ark" by Margaret Rolfe, from That Patchwork Place. The patterns are for paper-pieced animals about 5 inches square. There is also a pattern for the ark itself. You can design your own quilt, or use the suggestions in the book
