Dark matter has not yet been proven to exist, it is still theoretical. For that matter, we still don't know what holds atoms together, some theorize they work on EM fields, some ascribe to the string theory and others to even more theories.

I believe there is something else. Call it God, a universal conciousness, spirit or whatever. It's something beyond our understanding at this time, which not only holds atoms together at their core, but also ties us all together with each other. The universe might not have a mind of its own, but I believe we, mankind as a whole, give voice to the universe's thoughts in our own.

If you start listening to Enigma( A pretty talented musical master from Germany) He makes these songs with these kind of lyrcs; " The Universal eye of justice is watchhing you... " I doubt atoms think. Since, no Atom has ever written a book, composed music, become a Politician, an artist,inventor,plumber or anything. You need a nervous system that has evolved enough complexity before it can "think" . But,artificial intelligence is a different and real kind of intelligence too. Your question is simmilar to asking; Do you think a rock or a piece of wood thinks ?

I've always found this to be cool. It sort of goes with your question. I hope you enjoy. It's the only thing that gets me by these days.

In the Beginning
was the One,
the All,
the Infinite,
the Eternal.

And the Infinite
became aware of Itself...

And the Infinite,
according to Its Wisdom,
took a portion of its own being
and separated itself
into the pairs of opposites
which make up all aspects
of the manifest;
Dark and Light;
Night and Day;
Cold and Hot;
Wet and Dry;
Soft and Hard;
Negative and Positive;
Female and Male;
Dead and Living.

And yet,
within each aspect of the One,
dwelt the seed of its opposite.
Within Light dwelt the seed of Darkness;
Within Darkness dwelt the Seed of Light.
Within Good dwelt the seed of Evil;
Within Evil dwelt the seed of Good.
Within Life dwelt the seed of Death;
Within Death dwelt the seed of Life.

And still the Infinite
was not fully made manifest.
So it introduced
Change,
Movement,
Time,
The Rhythmic Swirling
of Space and Events.

And yet,
though hidden,
within, around,
and throughout
all the manifest,
the Infinite remained:
Foundation of All Creation.

And thus did the Infinite,
The One,
The Boundless,
The All,
Become Manifest.

And so it remains
even unto this day.

Possibly, but most likely not. The universe is just matter interacting with other matter and obeying the laws of physics.

His name is God....

Though he is seperate from the universe, living in a multiverse.

Dark matter is just dark matter, like normal matter only consiting of negative properties, think of it as a reverse of matter. What makes you think dark matter would think and normal matter would not?

Interesting thought, I suppose it's up to whether you're religious or not. I'm not, so I don't believe it does, everything is random. However, there are those who'd argue otherwise
