Hi. The speed of signals in your brain is not the important issue. How the mind stores memories for retrieval is fascinating. The best explanation I ever read was that the images and sounds and smells are stored as chemical holograms. That could by why the smell of a campfire or a perfume "brings back memories". The actual speed maybe found here: http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2002/DavidParizh.shtml

Slower than electricity faster than sound....
Whats a thought though? The reason we have suppority over computers as in connnections speed is that our mind has an unlimited transferable rate....for example a Network cable generally has a speed of 100 MB a second. (Some get into GB Per Second, no Terabytes yet though.) So our "Cable to our brain has a infinite TBs (the TB ought to be infinite though to) per 2 seconds...
So were slower in completing a single thought but faster overall. Those numbers are estimations, but it illustrates the general idea. The problem is that most people limit there consious to only imagine so much at once.

Surprisingly slow, actually. Nerve impulses in the brain travel at a few tens of meters per second. That means that "thoughts" propagate through your brain in times measured in hundredths of a second. That seems fast but it isn't, really; your PC is a million times faster.

As fast as electricity, which would be the speed of light.

It is greater than 'ecape velocity'. one can travel far &wide without moving from the place &come back to the same place with the same speed.
It is relative ; when the thoughts are in the 'present' it is stationary. when one moves to the 'past 'or' future', it travels with the 'mind'.

I think it varies by person. Ever deal with a DMV employee...? I think they think in reverse a good deal of the time...
