Bush still has the option to pardon Libby fully. Fact is he's getting a slap on the wrist for obstruction of justice. Clinton got a slap on the wrist for obstruction of justice - lying under oath. Still, it's a little hypocritical that the majority of Republicans still believe that Clinton should have been imprisoned or tried for treason over lying about sexual misconduct with an intern.
Scooter Libby is getting a get out of jail free card for covering Cheney's rear in the Plame outing.

Barry. Please read before spewing. Thanks. Bill Clinton was disbarred. He lied about a personal issue. Libby lied about a matter of national security. Your post represents the hypocracy and lack of rational thought I was referring to. And if your going to sit there and throw stones about Congressmen and GOP associates... should I bring up Tom Delay, Bob Ney, Randall Duke Cunningham, Jack Abrhamoff, Donald Keyser, Chuck McGee et al.

Wish I would have thought of that question. They do tend to go on about Clinton. Neiner neiner now we're even. Lay off Clinton. In spite of all the negatives they can come up with, he is still very well liked here and around the world. While their beloved president is despised here and abroad. Good question.

Libby knows what the definition of "IS" is !! Also ; What part of " I DID NOT HAVE SEX WITH THAT WOMAN " is confusing you , and why do you still believe it ?? The Libby trial was a "kangaroo court" job ! Take the time to look at the case in detail , it is a fricking joke , with Sandy Berger still running loose stealing papers out of The National Archives that would have had Bill Clinton going to jail , and your beloved Congressman from Louisiana running loose with $90,000.00 hid in his freezer !! Where is this all righteous Liberal Bias Media on these 2 hot topics ??? See , if you`re lazy , and you don`t require to be told both sides of a story then we now know why you only know what someone else tells you , It`s called leaning LEFT \\\\\\\\

He was impeached and it was unsuccessful, as I recall. He finished his term, as I recall.
Libby's commuted sentence is no less than what I get for first time offenders of non-violent crimes every day of the week. Especially indigent clients.
As an attorney, I do not view Clinton as having not received punishment. At least on paper.
ADDED: Clinton was also our President, who committed his misdeeds while in office, as compared with a conversation years prior, in Libby's case. Would you know who Libby is if not for this scandal?

I have no problem with the result of the Clinton impeachment. The charges were a waste of time any way. To correct you, Libby has not been pardoned, his jail sentence was commuted. This means that he is still a convicted felon, just that he doesn't have to serve jail time. The charges brought against Libby are equally bogus as those brought against Clinton.

Libby was NOT pardoned! His sentence was commuted, but his criminal record still shows a conviction of perjury.
Clinton was not convicted of perjury, so had nothing to be punished for (Although his lack of conviction was political).
I just wish that people would let it rest. The Democrats got their guy off the hook for perjury, why can't the Republicans get a guy off the hook?

Libby was not pardoned. Clinton was guilty and should have been convicted by the Senate.

As a republican, I was against the Clinton Impeachment. Congress should have censured him and moved on.
