If you're freaking out about it, you should know that it's not necessary. There are now evens Jews against circumcision (there's an organization called that way, too) and such. At 15, nobody can force you down to get it done; that would be abuse and you can get the law involved.

First, read up on the risks that circumcision carries.

As a pediatric nurse who has assisted in countless circumcisions and bargains with sufferers as much as and which includes 18 years of age, you're making the fabulous decision. My first suggestion is to thoroughly forget approximately approximately all the foreskin fetishists who remark right here and on different boards. they're going to in basic terms inform you undesirable issues approximately circumcision, and not something they say would be authentic or precise in any way shape or form. Now for the technique itself. As you would be an person, you is generally placed to sleep for the technique. If not they're going to use Lidocaine to freeze your penis. The Lidocaine is injected on the backside of the penis at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions into particular nerves that block the soreness receptors to the the remainder of the penis. Lidocaine isn't injected any the place else. At my wellbeing facility we use the Gomco Clamp that's supplied in numerous sizes to acommidate babies as properly as young ones and or youthful adults. The Gomco Clamp is broadly favored because it produces an fairly fantastic finding result removing a plenty larger ingredient of foreskin than different concepts and techniques. The Gomco Clamp will pass away your Penis totally Circumcised and there'll be no extra epidermis to hide the top of your penis even while comfortable. As an person you could anticipate that suture's would be used as you will adventure usual erections on your sleep because it heals, and this might avert ripping or tearing contained in the cut back line. The therapeutic time for an person would properly be 6-8 weeks. After it fairly is healed you could anticipate to work out a hoop around the shaft of your penis and there's a shade distinction between the top ingredient of your shaft and the decrease ingredient. This distinction in shade tone identifies the greater delicate inner layer that's retained and pulled down the shaft and sutured to the cut back line and the outer layer that's the decrease 0.5 of your penis.

Circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin, the tissue covering the head of the penis. It is an ancient practice that has its origin in religious rites. Today, many parents have their sons circumcised for religious or other reasons.

When Is Circumcision Done?
Circumcision is usually performed on the first or second day after birth. (Among the Jewish population, circumcision is performed on the eighth day.) The procedure becomes more complicated and riskier in older babies, children, and men.

How Is Circumcision Done?
During a circumcision, the foreskin is freed from the head of the penis (glans), and the excess foreskin is clipped off. If done in the newborn period, the procedure takes about five to ten minutes. Adult circumcision takes about one hour. The circumcision generally heals in five to seven days.

Is Circumcision Necessary?
The use of circumcision for medical or health reasons is an issue that continues to be debated. Currently, the American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend routine circumcision for newborn males stating the evidence was not significant enough to prove the operation's benefit. The procedure may be recommended in older boys and men to treat phimosis (the inability to retract the foreskin) or to treat an infection of the penis.

Parents should talk with their doctor about the benefits and risks of the procedure before making a decision regarding circumcision of a male child. Other factors, such as your culture, religion, and personal preference, will also impact your decision.

What Are the Benefits of Circumcision?
There is some evidence that circumcision has health benefits, including:

A decreased risk of urinary tract infections.
A reduced risk of sexually transmitted diseases in men.
Protection against penile cancer and a reduced risk of cervical cancer in female sex partners.
Prevention of balanitis (inflammation of the glans) and balanoposthitis (inflammation of the glans and foreskin).
Prevention of phimosis (the inability to retract the foreskin) and paraphimosis (the inability to return the foreskin to its original location).
Circumcision also makes it easier to keep the end of the penis clean.

Note: Some studies show that good hygiene can help prevent certain problems with the penis, including infections and swelling, even if the penis is not circumcised. In addition, using a condom during sex will help prevent STDs and other infections.

What Are the Risks of Circumcision?
Like any surgical procedure, there are risks associated with circumcision. However, this risk is low. Problems associated with circumcision include:

Pain
Risk of bleeding and infection at the site of the circumcision
Irritation of the glans
Increased risk of meatitis (inflammation of the opening of the penis)
Risk of injury to the penis

Hope this helped.

Religious purposes is not a good reason to get cut. The ONLY good reason is necessary medical purposes. If you don't like the idea of being cut, don't convert that that religion! You are 15 and plan on getting it done when you are 17, I think you are old enough then to say no to it! There is no god, and you don't have to chop off your foreskin for it!

don't get it done. It makes your penis less sensitive, looks worse and can cause lots of problems. people who say you should have had it done as a kid, YEA RIGHT. great idea, removed a important piece of your sons body without anesthetic and without his OK. Why? because some people have been brainwashed into think it is cleaner. Haven't they heard of washing? I wash mine everyday and have never had anybody say it smells or is dirty.

A guy at work chose to have it done at 19yo because he was talked into it and he regretted it. It hurt like hell for weeks and now he said he is starting to loose sensitivity already after only about 5 months. also he said sex isn't as good because the foreskin used to slide up and down the shaft when ******* or intercourse and now it doesn't, it is just skin on skin rubbing.

Ejaculation can be considered premature when it occurs 30 seconds to 4 minutes into sex, depending on different cultures, countries and experts. Behavioural techniques can help you delay orgasm. Learn here https://tr.im/5bPl4
These include the start-and-stop method and the squeeze technique. A combination of these techniques along with sexual counselling and medication (either using an anaesthetic cream or an oral tablet) is recommended.

It is YOUR choice, not some priest or rabbi or whatever. I often wonder why muslims and jews insist on circumcism, when I doubt that they insist on practictioners to whip out their penises to verify they are cut or not. Ugly, barbaric practice stolen from old cultures and used by newer ones to Mark or identify their practictioners. If YOU don't want to be mutilated, don't do it.

yes just calm down. It's nothing bad. I'm circumcised and let me tell you it's great. A friend of mine was circumcised as an adult. It does hurt but it doesn't take long and it will look much nicer afterword. It also is better for hygiene purposes.

There are a lot of people that will wine to you that it's unnecessary and make up lies about circumcision to scare you but they are full of crap.

Religious reasons?
There are not religions that require circumcision.
Let me briefly cover Islam, Judaism and Christianity.

"Christians rejected circumcision at the Council at Jerusalem. (Acts 15 http://www.cirp.org/pages/cultural/christian.html#ACTS15 ) St. Paul, the apostle to the gentiles, taught parents that they should not circumcise their children. (Acts 21:25 http://www.cirp.org/pages/cultural/christian.html#ACTS21 ) In a reference to the old practices of genital mutilation, St. Paul warned Titus to beware of the "circumcision group." (Titus 1:10-16 http://www.cirp.org/pages/cultural/christian.html#TIT1 )"

Not all Jews circumcise, there is a growing trend (albeit it is still a minority) of not circumcising.
Moses and his sons were not circumcised. (Exodus 4:25) Moses apparently prohibited circumcision during the 40 years in the wilderness,(Joshua 5:5) although Joshua reinstituted circumcision at Gilgal after the death of Moses. (Joshua 5:2-10)

The Israeli Association Against Genital Mutilation: http://www.britmila.org.il/
Jews Against Circumcision (JAC): http://www.jewsagainstcircumcision.org/

"Any medical procedure that involves even the possibility of risk to life is halachically forbidden. Judaism affirms the sanctity of human life, embracing the idea that every life is of infinite value. Halakah also tells us that since danger to life takes precedence over all else, medically hazardous procedures are strictly forbidden. The halacha (jewish law) recognizes the potential for harm that circumcision can bring, and so it stipulates that if a mother has 'lost' a child to circumcision , she is not obligated to circumcise future sons... this can be extrapolated to our shared humanity..enough mothers and children have suffered from this procedure..enough sons have been lost..let love and healing take precedence over fear and cutting.

It is a violation of Torah commandments to physically assault or harm another person (Exodus 21:18-27). Yet that is exactly what circumcision is! Thus, it is against the most fundamental concept of Jewish law.

We must embrace the notion of Bris Shalom, in which the genital mutilation part of the ceremony is omitted.

Some Jews are afraid to look at circumcision for what it is because they think that if you’re against circumcision, you’re anti-semitic. That is a ridiculous notion. Jews are not defined by our practices. In fact, the only requirement for Judaism is that you are born of a Jewish mother. Jews are taught to pursue education and question everything. We have questioned many practices in the Torah. Due to our enlightment and education, we no longer practice some of them.

For people who use the anti-semitism argument, the analogy I like to use is, if 90% of all black people smoke and you’re against smoking, you’re not anti-black, you’re anti-smoking. It’s the practice, not the people.”" [ http://www.jewsagainstcircumcision.org/jewish.htm ]

In Islam, the practice violate the Koran: "Our Lord, You did not create all this in vain" (3:191), and "[He] perfected everything He created" (32:7). You are destroying that which Our Lord created perfectly.
Please have a look at this link: http://www.quran.org/khatne.htm

I would recommend NOT circumcising.

No medical institution in the world actually recommends the practice.
Let's have a look at medical associations in the developed world. The British Medical Association, Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Canadian Paediatric Society, American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, Australian College of Paediatrics and Australasian Association of Paediatric Surgeons. Every one of them recommends AGAINST performing the procedure. Their positions on the procedure can be found here: http://www.circumcision.org/position.htm

The foreskin keeps the glans soft and moist and protects it from trauma and injury. Without this protection, the glans becomes dry, calloused, and desensitized from exposure and chafing.
Specialized nerve endings in the foreskin enhance sexual pleasure.
The foreskin may have functions not yet recognized or understood.

"The glans of the circumcised penis is less sensitive to fine touch than the glans of the uncircumcised penis. The transitional region from the external to the internal prepuce is the most sensitive region of the uncircumcised penis and more sensitive than the most sensitive region of the circumcised penis. Circumcision ablates the most sensitiveparts of the penis." Circumcision cuts off the five most sensitive points from the penis [Touch test sensitivity experiment, British Journal of Urology 2007, copy of report: http://www.nocirc.org/touch-test/bju_6685.pdf ].

The foreskin reduces the force required by the penis to enter the vagina while circumcision contributes to vaginal dryness. [ http://www.circumcision.org/studies.htm , http://www.cirp.org/library/sex_function/ ]
The foreskin also increases the sexual enjoyment of the female partner. [ http://www.cirp.org/library/anatomy/ohara/ ]

Performing circumcision on a child can and does result in the deaths of children due to blood loss and/or failure of the immune system.

Approximately 230 American males die every year because of circumcision. [ http://www.sexuallymutilatedchild.org/deathsdo.htm , http://www.cirp.org/library/death/ ] This is a meaningless and very sad loss of life.

It can and does result in very significant scaring.
It can and does result in sexual problems later in life.

Circumcised males have a much higher rate of sexual dysfunction and premature ejaculation. [ http://www.cirp.org/library/sex_function/ ]

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) "there is little evidence to affirm the association between circumcision status and optimal penile hygiene." [ http://www.circumcision.org/aap.htm ]

Hygiene and prevention of disease are among the commonest reasons cited for performing male circumcision. This directory contains references that examine the validity of these claims in detail: http://www.cirp.org/library/disease/
