If normal parents have a child asleep in a hotel room in a foreign country, one of them goes out to bring back food while the other stays with the child. It's as simple as that. It was horrendously bad judgment. If they always behaved in this way, then yes, it was child neglect. But if it was a one-time lapse, I guess it could have happened to any of us. It is easy to say they learned an expensive lesson and are paying the price. But Maddy had to pay a worse price, and it wasn't her fault at all.

Heck- Yes- Even if they were a room away. I bet they were not keeping an eye on her. They had to look down to eat and talk with others they were having fun. If they thought she would be okay alone in that room and they had sight of her room how come she is missing? All it takes is one second and she was gone.Charge them with neglect like they do to other poor people.....

No,I don't think they should be charged with child neglect. I think they are suffering and we should all leave them alone. I just pray that the little girl is okay and will be reunited with her parents soon. Can you imagine how scared she must be?
Keep her in your prayers,she just a little kid who needs her parents.

If you read ALL of the facts surrounding her disappearance, you will find that they could SEE the room door...they were only a few feet away....and ARE very good parents...from what I can gather...they did NOT just leave the kids and take off for a restaurant down the street....
This is how rumors start....
I know these parents are suffering enough...without people making things harder on them by making statements like this..

I've said this from the very beginning! who leaves a child/children unattended in a hotel room while you go off to have a fancy dinner and drinks. where was their priority? clearly wasn't on their daughters...was on the food and alcohol. they should of then left their children at home with family it they wanted that kind of holiday.

they couldnt see the door they lied and anyway that is no excuse to leave those children on there own look at the two children that died on hoilday in there beds of carbon poisoning in spain so yes they should be done

Did you ever go out in your back yard and work in the flowers while your children were asleep in the house? Judge not lest ye be judged! I for one think they were responsible parents -- just my opinion and I am not a religious zealot.

YES!!!!! I wrote an entire blog about this and how ridiculous I think it is that they haven't been charged! It's titled "no equal treatment in America". I am so angered by it, I am working on a second one.
