How can you tell when Cheney and Bush are being honest . Telling the truth and treating others fairly .?

Expand your question. How can you tell if ANYONE is being honest? Say, like people in this place. ;)

You can't. They can't.

Don't misunderstand me. I am a patriot, and have great respect for my elected representatives.

But there are two problems with the modern misconceptions of what our leadership is or how they should behave:

1) Our President/Vice-President should always tell the truth.
2) They should always treat others fairly.

1) The Press wants to know everything, including our national secrets, any sensitive materials, any personal details, everything. So do the the opposing party of whomever is in the seat of the President. They don't care about national security as long as they can find something to hurt the President with. NO ONE is unaware of the nonsense that is thrown out daily, and no one is so crazy as to think it is "just" behavior. If the President (Clinton or Bush) were a private citizen they would be trillionaires right now due to all the lawsuits for libel and slander they could have pressed.

They do not owe us to be honest and open. They owe us to protect our country. That's their job, not to be their own press secretary as well.

2) "Fairness" is a child's concept of "Justice". It isn't real. Its where everyone gets treated equally whether they've earned or deserve it. It's the cry of everyone who ever wanted something they haven't done anything to get.

Our President and Vice-President must be just. They do not owe anyone (nor do you owe anyone) "fair".

Finally, we as a public lie about them, spread false rumors, call them names, treat them as "guilty until proved innocent", treat them unjustly, and act very seditiously, on a minute by minute basis.

Worse behavior by far is the silence. When people behave this way, WE are silent. We say, "That's not me, that's not my job to speak up, its the fringe, its not my responsibility."

It is you if you stay silent. They speak for you.
It is your job if you are an American. Protecting our country.
It isn't the fringe any longer. You've voted for these people, just like you did for the last two decades.
It is your responsibility.

We forget. This is America. We don't have a king. Our leaders are voted in.

Our leaders learn from OUR example, not the other way around.

Are you acting the way you would want your leadership to act? Would you stand up to the scrutiny of the Press and publics' constant push to reveal our national secrets and perfect image of leadership?

Would you REALLY vote for you?

Well criminal psychology teaches you that when a person averts their eyes to the left, that person is lying. So that would be when they're lying, but the telling the truth and treating people fairly part im not sure about. Maybe their not capable, especially when Cheney will shoot someone.

Without being able to verify what they say you can never tell. Your only option is to choose for yourself whether they are telling the truth or not.

No matter what you decide, there certainly isn't any point in getting upset about it.

Bush would only be honest if he said:

"I am da pwez i dent. cheney tells me what to do cuz hes my boss, he says all i gots to do, is wat he tells me, and he said if i do dat, i could pick a country to go to war wit! so i picked iwaq cuz them thar people done shot at my pa!"
