For diet purpose

I fasted for a about a week, then would eat 2 meals and puke it up and then fast again and did this for about 2 months until my boyfriend(now spouse) basically called me out for being an idiot and I agreed.

I know it was sick, it was when I was 20 and was having a rough go at life and thought I'd be rough on myself so I could gain some sort of semblance of my self and control. Stupid thing that I wised up on.

Yep, I had a couple of Mormon missionaries that asked me to fast. I don't believe their religion, but they insisted that fasting was the best way to recieve spiritual enlightenment. In the interest of science I conceded that there was no way to know unless I tried it, so for 24 hours I fasted.

All I got was a headache.

I went on a vision quest, fasting, in Yosemite National Park. I was granted a vision, so I guess it worked. A spirit bear came to me in the night and gave me a hug. I could feel its claws gentle on my chest, not hurting me. I know it was a spirit bear and not a physical one, because the claws would have had to go right through my sleeping bag, and when I got up in the morning, there were no holes in the bag.

Yes, I was allowed juice or water which I drank very little of either. It was a 30 hour fast to increase awareness of hunger in the world and to help you put yourself into the shoes of those who are less fortunate.
