Yes, as long as it's not loud!
The only time I don't need 'background noise' is when I sleep, but I do need some music to fall asleep ( my mom usually goes to my bedroom to turn off the cd player, but I remember that once it stayed on all night!)

Seeker,

I live near LA.....life is the background noise

fire truck sirens
traffic on the 210
parrots cawing on the power lines
the Metro (the quietest one)
Tejano music at 3 am
a babel of tongues...yelling at each other
guard dogs barking
sprinklers running at all hours in the drought
angry squirrels cackling in the apricot trees

It's not like I can't live without it, but I work better with background noise. I listen to music as often as I can. Studying, cleaning, sleeping. Never turn it off. It actually helps keep me focused. I think it's meditative for me.

My granddaughter does and that is why all the t.v. are turned off plus all the music. I am now asking her to get some books from the local library. We live by the lake and today might be a good day to go there.

No, in fact I'm getting more and more tired of it these days. I like to have the television or music on when I'm cleaning or doing something in the kitchen, but that's it. If I'm at work or if I'm studying for something or making a phone call, I need as little distraction as possible, which is tough for me to do these days both at work and at home :/
