Oh God! Are you one of those? Let me guess - you have probably never been to America or met a real American (seeing one on TV doesn't count) but you harbor all kinds of preconceived notions about the qualities of 300 million people. Thick, uneducated, arrogant, fat, lazy, war mongers, bullies - we Americans have heard all this bullsh*t before so we're not surprised by it. The world hates us or resents us - that is nothing new. But when something goes wrong in your country, we'll probably be the first ones there to help you out. Then you can see what horrible people we aren't.

Arrogant?...If you are good then false modesty is self defeating....And we are good.

Uneducated?...Depend on what your definition of education is...

Do you really think that all U.S. citizens appear "thick, uneducated and arrrogant"? If the general American public heard that, you'd have have a lot of angry people asking for your head (though I don't know why because what you said is very true for a lot of Americans who let the government control them). Not all of us believe the crap the government throws our way. I have Jesus on my side, so I'm safe. :) I remain competitive because I can and I want to; America ain't gonna pull me down with the rest of them! (It probably helped that my parents aren't American. I wasn't "introduced" to the general American crap 'til I started school.) America certainly will fall one day, and the rest of the world will go with it. And that's that. What comes afterward for any person is really up to that individual.

yep they are, there's a couple of vids on youtube where an Aussie TV show goes round asking Americans questions and they all get them wrong. One of the best was "name a country begining with U" and one of them answers "Yugoslavia"!!!! NONE of them answered USA!!!
