I hate the sight of the screaming Barry Scott, but he says Cillit Bang works. So I bought some, tried it, and threw it in the bin. It didn't do a thing for me!

No. I used to sell tiles, bathrooms and kitchens for a living, and I know from masses of feedback that things like Cillit Bang, Mr Muscle etc are a waste of time. They don't do anything special, all they do is leave lots of streaks and residue, which build up and are a pain to get rid of. Also, all those chemicals really can't be healthy. The best thing for everyday cleaning of nearly anything around the house is a bit of washing up liquid (Fairy etc) in warm water. This counts for vinyl flooring, tiles, anything in the bathroom apart from the toilet bowl, kitchen units and worktops, windows, the lot. Just about the only time you need anything more harsh is for limescale (use vinegar or lemon juice), and ovens and hobs (this is when you need something designed for the job). Also, e-cloths are great for cleaning glass and anything chrome (like taps), and they don't use any chemicals at all.

Same as you,it was useless. Best one I find is Flash spray with bleach. In the ads most of the grime is only very loose and anything will remove it, . Bit like those ads of heavily soiled garments that are pristine white after a short wash. Have you ever seen those DIY demonstrators of paint pads or rollers. They make it look so easy and the end result perfect. I have tried ,and I am no dunce. but you can't get them to work like in the demo. I suppose the Cillit thing did get us to buy the stuff to try, and in that respect I suppose the ad worked.

It's dangerous stuff anyway and unkind to the planet. Try good old vinegar and water...never fails to clean.

There's only one way to find out. It may suck and you might waste money, but if your up to it give it a whack.
