To say a parent should be arrested for a nickname because you think it's child abuse is hilarious. I believe you didn't mean it literally. But to get down to it, where then would we then draw the line? Should I then be arrested for calling my eldest son Davy because it is too old sounding for some? That is one of his nicknames by the way, his first name is David. I may not like what other people name their children, but that really isn't any of my business. Some people who have children like those little nicknames and because it is their child (not yours) they have every right to use them. I say this knowing that I too find certain names parents give their children cruel, horrid, or just plain wrong. I have a right to my opinion and voice it because I can. But I also realize that their stupidity isn't my own and can move on from it. All I can say is, at least those first names those girls were given were nice. So instead of just a nickname issue it could be an out right name issue which is much-much worse.

That's true but I don't actually know of anyone under 50 or 60 called Agnes, lol. Do you?

Funny question though. I don't mind the name. It is nice, but only really for old ladies.

it is old fashioned but at least it really is a name, you can spell it and say it without a explanation .these so called made up unique names that people are using are so stupid and will be such a hassle for the kids to spell or have anyone pronounce their names correctly.they cant even tell if the child is a girl or a boy cause they are so phony!
