First of all. Cleveland may an underrated in some circles---BUT NOT IN MINE!
I totally respect and admire what they have done during the off season, and I have been saying since March that The Indians and The Tigers will be battling it out all year.
I think The Tigers end up winning the Division by at least 1 game. The last weekend of the season will determine who wins the division and who get stthe wild card. I believe that favors Detroit...as we are playing the whiney sux at "The Cell" and The Tigers have the best road record. The Indians play at KC, and I see KC being the spoilers. Look what they did to The Tigers last year---swept them the last weekend of the season and cost us The Division Title.
Now, this series starting tonight will be tight. I see The Indians winning tonight's (7-3) game (Byrd is unreal!!!) and The Tigers winning tomorrow's game (Rogers is darn near unbeatable) and well Thursday's game is up in the air...as it is CC vs. Verlander. That will be one heck of a game! Verlander had a bad outing his last time out and should be on fire to prove something. Plus CC has beaten Verlander twice this year, and the law of averages will be in Verlander's favor.
So, I think (hope, really) that The Tigers take 2 of 3 and Cleveland leaves town with a 1 game lead (not a 2 game lead as of now). That would be my hopes and wishes.
I DO NOT EXPECT DETROIT TO SWEEP!
Although that would be nice, I doubt it would happen.
Another thing to consider is that Cleveland is19-20 on the road while The Tigers are 20-18 at home.

Detroit will win the division and the World Series due to the pitching and sweet everday lineup...Cleveland will be the AL Wild Card and the division race will come down to the last week.....for the series, Detroit wins two of the games, and will set up a great second-half race with a well respected, but not underrated, Cleveland team.

oops, too late for Tigers sweep, Indians won game 1. IF TIgers get all their bullpen people back and healthy, they will win the division. If not, they are out of the playoffs, pure and simple.
Indians bullpen- Bettancourt, great setup man. Perez, dependable "hold" guy. Borowski, underwhelming, but effective closer.
Starters- a toss up.
Lineup-edge to Tigers, tons of offensive firepower. Indians excellent 1-5, after that, so-so.
I am a Tribe fan, and they will be the wild card, at least. Tigers bullpen health is key to everything.

Tribe will win 2 out of 3, going to Toronto with a 4 game lead. Cleveland has a good shot of winning the division if they keep playing good baseball. If they don't win the division, they're probably going to get the Wild Card.
GO TRIBE!!!

I don't know. I am a big indians fan. Here is are the pitching matchups.
Game 1 Byrd 7-3 with an ERA of 4.67 vs. Robertson 4-6 with an ERA of 4.82.
Game 2 Westbrook 1-3 with an ERA of 6.10 vs. Rogers 2-0 with an ERA of 0.75
Game 3 Sabathia 12-2 with an ERA of 3.20 vs. Verlander 9-3 with an ERA of 3.18
I say Indians win games 1,3 Tigers win game two
Indians have also won eight of their last ten so it will be interesting. I think the Indians will win the division by 2 games.

Tigers will win two of three or would sweep Indians this week. But they still have more games series to go until its end in late September. It's too early to see who wins the AL central title or the wild card. We will see who will make the playoff and divisions titles in early and late September.
I wish Indians will make the playoff but Tigers will about to return to World Series this year to try bring the World Series title back to Motown.

These are two really good teams, edge to the Tigers at home. I believe both teams will go to the playoffs, edge also to the Tigers to win the division.
