Awww lol, so just tell her, sweety, im not saying this to hurt you, but I REALLY DO NOT LIKE the meatloaf. You shouldnt have to suffer in eating something you dont like. I would want my husband to be honest with me. Just be honest with her. She will get over it :)

If you don't want to hurt her feelings, stop thinking of it as "the worst crap you ever had in your life." Just ask her not to make it any more. Like this,
"Honey, I know you work really hard to get a good meal on the table, but would you mind if I made one little request?"
(She'll probably say it's fine. If not, you have bigger problems than meat loaf.)
"Would you mind not making meatloaf for me any more? I guess it's just not my thing. I'm sorry, because I know you put so much into each meal, and I don't want to sound ungrateful. I'm just not into meatloaf."
Oh, and by the way, this means you give up eating meatloaf entirely, or at least whenever she's around.
The same technique will work for other issues:
1. Acknowlege you spouse's wonderful qualities
2. Ask for permission to make a request.
3. Phrase the request kindly and make sure that if anybody looks like a heal, it's you.
4. Give a reason for the request.
5. Apologize for imposing #3 because you know #1.

Well first of all I think I would leave the "worst crap" part out of the conversation you have with her. Just tell her that you arent being mean and you dont want to hurt her feelings, but it might be time to search the internet for some new recipes. Better yet, why dont you find a new recipe and cook her a meatloaf supper. Maybe she will like it so much better that she will discover hers might not be so good.

Umm...you don't. If you like meatloaf, just not hers, make a version you like one night. If she likes it she will start using that recipe. If you don't like meatloaf at all just tell her you don't like meatloaf. It's nothing personal it's just your preference. But do not tell her that her version is the worst ever. Hurting your wife's feelings is a very bad idea and not worth the risk.

That's funny.
Well... you could become a vegetarian, then you'd have a legitimate reason for not eating it.
Or, claim to have eaten a really big lunch whenever she prepares it...
Or, tell her that you associate meatloaf with some bizarre childhood trauma. Your puppy was killed by a hard meatloaf that was left out overnight and fell on his head when he was trying to jump up and get it?
Or, just be honest and say (gently), "I'm sorry... I'm just not a big fan of meatloaf. But I really love your chili..."

Sorry bud, but that will be impossible. But don't tell her that it ''is the worst crap you've ever had in you life''. Tell her that you simply do not like it and clarify that it is your opinion about it. She'll more than likely do 1 of 2 things. She'll start to pout and feel bad, but tell her what other stuff you like that she cooks. Or she'll freak out on you, in which case, take the "hits" until she calms down a bit without yelling at her. Then do as I said before. Hopefully it will make her feel better and hopefully you'll never ever have to eat the meat loaf again.

You will not be able to tell her that without hurting her feelings. Sorry. Maybe if you told her that meatloaf in general (even your own mothers) has never been your favorite but that you love it when she makes(whatever she makes well) because it is the best you've ever had.

Well, I'd avoid the such words as "worst crap I ever had in my entire life". Identify what it is you don't really like. Texture? Spices? Perhaps she puts in an ingredient you don't like. And then suggest a different method of preparation. Most cooks I know prefer to know that people enjoy what they make. Just be nice about how you say it. Good luck

Just tell her that you are Not trying to hurt her feelings....but....her meatloaf needs something added. That you do not really like it but you were afraid to upset her. Or eat it & say nothing.

By a box of Lipton Onion Soup mix, that makes the BEST meatloaf and is soooo easy to make. Put it in the pantry and suggest she to try it out OR make it yourself.
