I would wonder how the heck it got in my attic, considering
1.) I'm not near any bodies of water (well usually not, it's been flooding here so I guess it could have came in the flood)
2.) and I don't even know how to get into my attic or if I even have one ( I live in an apartment)

It may be the crazy aunt that nobody likes to talk about. If I were a betting man I would go with the larger the mice or rat scenario. Most likely squirrel or raccoon. Whatever it is, once it has been removed, go professional on that removal, check for holes and other openings were the critters can get in and make appropriate repairs. If you have screens over the attic vents make sure those are in good shape.

Not likely, but I LOVE alligators!!! I hope to see some next week while in Florida...I also hope to spot some of those Florida Panthers (the animal, not the hockey team, lol).

Keep the attic closed til winter. Then when his blood is cold and his body is slow, open it up, catch him from behind, skin him, and make some boots and a wallet.

We just dealt with a family of raccoons in the attic, talk about a nightmare!
