I just wrote and self-published a book and it is ready for sale. I believe I should either name the website after the title of the book, or my last name. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons regarding either choice, and explain why they would choose one over the other?

Example of choices:

www.calmbeforethestorm.com
or
www.demitri.com

Thanks Much!

The "examples" are just that - examples, not my real name and title of book, although they are similar. I did not want to give those out yet before I had a website set up - thanks.

Simple, get both your full name.com and the full title of your book.com. It's cheap and you have to lock it in. If you don't and your work is even slightly successful, you may have the privilege of paying someone to purchase the name that you can buy now for a few bucks.

Use both. You can have a main site (demitri.com) that brands yourself as an author and a person. And have acalmbeforethestorm.com assigned to a page within the demitri site to promotes the book. Visitors can then either link to the book from your site (which you'll promote), or link directly to the book (which you'll also promote).

And in the future if you have additional books, or other products, you can simply add pages and associate domain names as needed.

I can arrange an ecommerce ready site, at a reduced cost if you don't already have one which would include with a shopping cart and the ability to accept credit cards through your own merchant account.

I think you should publish it on Amazon, and get your own personal website and have a section for the published books you have. I am here if you need any assistance with the purchase of the domain or the payment gateway.
Good luck

well, if u name it after the book, then in the future, if u do write more books, u would have to have a different site. why dont u do ur first initial and then last name?

Honestly, it really doesn't matter because both are already taken. You are going to have to look hard for a domain that hasn't already been registered. Then you can worry about style.
