Hi,
It depends on what you want to do with your website too. If you just want a personal website to let the world know you're on the Internet, then one of the free web hosting sites might be fine for you, like Yahoo's Geocities.
If however you want something more like having your own domain name, for example using your own name or a business name, whatever, then you can buy your own domain for less then $10.00 a year.
Following, you then need a place to put your web pages so you need a web hosting service. Those are very affordable these days and for less then $5.00 a month you can get everything you need to sell products, start your own blog, have a picture gallery or create a message forum. There are many things you can do with your own website.
Many of the web hosts today include a plethora of features making it easy for you to create your web pages. Some offer you a number of pre-made templates so you basically just modify the information and you're ready to go. There's also a popular service called "Website Tonight" where for a low monthly fee you get both your web hosting and within minutes you can pick a beautiful web site and it creates your web pages for you too.
Here's more information about Website Tonight: https://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/hosting/hosting_build_website.asp?prog_id=252718&ci=1806&se=%2B
If you want to build your own web pages, there are many editors out there that make it quite easy to make a web page like Front Page, Dreamweaver and Expression Web.
It's very important also to make your web pages Search Engine Friendly, or SEO as we call it. This is not difficult and you can teach yourself the do's and don'ts by visiting this website and using their free tutorial: http://www.seo-guy.com/tutorial.html
I hope this helps!

It is not easy to make a website, but if you want to for free go to nvu.com and download the free wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) web design software. This way you can basically make your website like a Word document and you need no programming skills at all. Don't worry if it doesn't look like the ones you see online. That will come with time.
To get a free domain name search around online. You can find some offering up to 500 megabytes for your site. Sign up and upload your site!
To make money off of it, try looking into Google Adsense (google.com/adsense.html)
Best of Luck!

Probably the easiest way is to use a HTML (The basic web page coding language) editor like FrontPage or DreamWeaver which is said to be the best in the market. You could learn HTML from a book and do the work in a text editor and save that as HTML. There are several online editors which let you set up a page based on their templates.

Start by going to one of the sites which offers free websites with a "wizard" to help you build it. Geocities, Tripod and Angelfire are probably the most common.
Walk through their "wizard", and usually in under 30 minutes you can have a simple site up and working. From there, you play around, experiment, and over time will learn how to create your own site from scratch.

first you need a server and a domain (if you looking for a free one www.110mb.com ) then you need something to create the website like FrontPage, Publisher, Dreamweaver. You upload the page to your server and it will be displayed when you type in your address.
Enjoy

i used freewebs, managed to get 3 websites linked together and running with one purpose in mind, or you can get a domain name and work from scratch, but use freewebs, angelfire, tripod, or yahoo if you don't want to learn HTML right now, but HTML is probably good to know for future reference
