Yes I do care how I affect other people and not only that, I care to affect them in a positive and supportive fashion. I also care about how I affect people in a non direct way, such as peoples environments, or my job. Doing the right action is usually a positive reaction.

My whole life is based on affecting other people...I'm a parent AND a teacher! I care a lot about how I affect other people, and I work hard to be a good role model to those around me.

I care that I project myself in alignment with my true
representation. What people do with that projection
is up to them. I do my best to control my being
and I find that if I build my control on the natural
tendencies of other people then I will be building
toward a sustainable natural equilibrium. In other
words, I try to allow people to respond freely that
way I know how they will respond without supervision,
and I do this because I don't care to establish myself
as the supervisor. When people behave how they
want to behave then I can construct on a true premise.

Not at all.

The illusion that we're 'affecting' other people is self-deception. People sort through incoming data and make myriad unconcious choices concerning how they'll allow that data to be incorporated into their emotions, intellects, predispositions, biases, and their lives.

Which is to say, I don't affect anyone. Each person affects himself. Sometimes I might provide a piece of the data another person uses to assimilate and form a choice, but I have nothing to do with that choice.

Mostly, neither does anyone else.

When a person says, "You make me feel [angry, sad, happy, lousy]" the person is actually saying, "I choose to give you and what you say and do a value-level in my choices. The value level I assign to those words and actions allows you the power to influence how I view the moment, myself, my life. But that's a choice I have made. It has nothing to do with you."

All the time.....I have lived my life being careful not to abuse people, even those who earned it, with a high percentage of success. It allows me to sleep better at night and avoid being labeled a hypocrite.

Of course. In order to be a decent human being, we should be cognizant of the impact our words and actions have on the lives of others.
