ok well im dying to become more popular then i already am. because once im going to be going to high school in 2 years i think its important to have pleanty of friends.

If you have to change to make certian people like you then it isnt worth it.So dont change you personality or you will loose the friends you have now that love you for you.But to meet new people join different things like basketball,volleyball, softball, year book commitee,just groups that willl keep you busy and making new friends.

I think seeking popularity for its own sake is a big mistake. It may lead you to seek out the wrong friends, and to do harmful things that are considered "cool" by some, but jerky by others.
Seek to love rather than to be loved. Find out who you are and what you're interested in. Join an activity you really care about, and you'll find others who love that same activity. (Theater? Sports? The environment? Dance?) Be kind to everyone, but stand up for yourself when you have to. Don't be anyone's doormat or stooge. Help those who are hurting, but don't get in over your head. (Know when to back out.) If someone tells you a secret, keep it; if the secret is too dangerous to keep (e.g., someone was raped), telll a trusted adult. Attend school, community, or house-of-worship activities. Invite people to your house. If you can, throw a party at your house every now and then.
Don't try to be best friends with everyone, but treat everyone with kindness, respect, and consideration.

You really should just focus on being yourself and having great trusting friends, rather then having a bunch of people you don't know if you can rely on. Sometimes being popular isn't great because people expect you to be perfect, throw awesome parties, and to have a great image.
You can have a bunch of friends...But if 1 out of 100 friends is a close trustworthy friend who will be there when you need it, that friend is definately better then having a bunch of friends you can't rely on.

Hey whats up. I'm going to be a sophomore in HS this year and being popular isn't what you need to be worried about. The more popular you are the less time you spend focused on your school work! I should know I was popular as freshman with the juniors and seniors and it isn't all its cracked up to be. Specially if you are friends with the older guys, you always get played! But to be popular...just try to hang with the popular people and be yourself around them and if they don't like you then screw it and stick with the friends you have!

ok hun! Popularity isnt something to really be sought after. Just be who you are and if you make a lot of friends along the way then you will accomplish popularity. What I mean is that being popular or "cool" isnt something that you have to change yourself to achieve. Just stay true to yourself and the ppl who you love.

Be yourself. I would rather have 1 or 2 close friends that I can trust then to have a lot of friends with whom I'd have to watch my back. It isn't the number of friends, it's the quality of friendships that makes you.

you shouldnt even be worrying about that, having a whole bunch of friends just brings trouble i think you will do fine with jus some close friends. but if you have a lot of friends be aware that it brings a whole lot of drama,fights and a whole bunch of emotional crap trust me
