This used to be true, but now television affords more opportunities.
Thursday night football on ESPN - college football
Friday night - High School local action
Saturday - College games all day long
Sunday - NFL games all day
Monday Night Football on ESPN
Basically, the only two days without football during the season are Tuesday and Wednesday. True, your favorite team only plays once per week - but if your favorite baseball team wasn't playing, you'd likely watch another game between two different teams as a fan of the sport.

The NFL Network is available and goes year round. It has many programs that keep me satisfied in the offseason and between games. Also Football isn't just played on Sunday's anymore. There are games on Thurday's at a certain point in the season as well as Saturday and Monday.
If a person is a true football fan in addition to rooting for a particular team there is a lot of programming out there to watch. Such as the overdose of coverage of the NFL draft and mini/training camps.

Truthfully.....football (nowadays) is being played on almost everyday of the week. Generally you have Fridays (high school), Saturdays (college) and Sundays and Mondays (NFL)..NOW you have College football being played on Wednesday and Thursday nights along with NFL games periodically being played on Saturdays (playoffs). Once the football season starts and gets into full swing, believe me, you'll pretty much be able to turn the television on, no matter what day, and find a football game on whether its a live game OR replay of one days before.

Madden is my lifeline through out the entire offseason, and during the season ESPn does a good job of giving you college football thursdays, so you can get a fix on saturday, sunday, monday and thursday just about everyweek during the season.

Yes there is only one game per team a week, but you must keep in mind, Sunday you got all day starting from 1:00pm till 11or 12at night of football. You got monday night football on monday. Then Thursday night you got College football starting, and nfl games after thanksgiving they play on thursday. Friday there is usually a college game on. And then saturday all day and night you got college games. and then sunday again. So really youre only without football tuesday and wednesday.

The NFL Network & ESPN. I watch as many games as my wife will let me, lol. But since she's a Tennessee Vols fan and I'm a Florida Gators fan. We always flip back and forth between channels when their playing, lol.
But when they play each other it's a mad house around here, lol.

It isn't as hard as it used to be. With the NFL Network, ESPN, and everything else so focused on football, it isn't as bad as it might seem. NFL network even shows replays of games from last week and classic games. If that's dry...there's always madden.
