The egg-- you know, the little hard-boiled egg that they sometimes serve with the salad comes before the chicken you ordered for the main course....
(Usually the question is asked, "Which came first." Past tense makes more sense, if you want a philosophical debate... lol.)
The rote answer is that the egg came first, because the thing that laid it wasn't quite a chicken.

The answer is, of course, the egg. Eggs were produced by dinosaurs for millions of years before the first chicken-type-thing evolved. A more exhausting question is - what came first, male or female?

The egg came first as the chicken mutated inside the egg to become a chicken.. chickens didn't just appear.. they mutated and that happens in the egg...

I have once again conducted exhaustive experimentation on this subject. I spared no expense.
I diligently researched this question in my local library, having consulted no less than four major encyclopedias for information.
In each of the four, an entry for "chicken" appeared before an entry four "egg".
My conclusion is definitely that "chicken" always comes before "egg".

And I still say it was the rooster!
Actually it was the egg. Evolution starts with the new generation, therefore, it starts with the egg.

I believe the Bible. It states clearly that God created all living things, including birds such as the rooster and chicken. Once they got together, THEN we had eggs... and more chickens... and more eggs... ;-)
