Kolb is not ready to start yet, but in the future, he could do very well for the Eagles. I was as surprised/pissed as any Eagles fan when Kolb was drafted (wayyyy to early by the way), but taking a security qb and someone to push mcnabb as he gets older does make sense. McNabb is an absolute force when he's healthy, but the last two seasons showed that the Eagles need a backup, and in getting Kolb, they got someone who probably will needed to be groomed for a couple years before he is really ready to play. Even if McNabb goes down this year, it is difficult to imagine Kolb stepping in ahead of Feely and Holcombe because the Eagles have a legitimate shot at going far into the playoffs. Next year, Kolb should definitely be the number two guy and even give McNabb a chase if Donovan has a down year or gets injured again. They'll probably keep AJ Feely on as third stringer (where he belongs).
McNabb is signed through 2013, but it is hard to imagine the Eagles holding on to him given their tendancy to trade or release older players. Whenever Reid thinks Kolb is ready, the Eagles will look to ship McNabb. Kolb is a mobile qb who is built for the west coast offense, and supposedly he's been doing alright so far. We'll have to wait and see.

He's not better than McNabb skill-wise..but he is better than McNabb in that he can probably play a 16 game season....Kolb should do alright if he gets to start this or next season because of McNabb's injury or the Eagles deciding to move on because they have Westbrook and a somewhat good receiving group, they wont be going to any pro bowls...but they're a solid group. The talent around Kolb would make him alright.

McNabb is pretty awesome when he's able to play. But man does he have health issues.
I still don't get that pick. I think Edwards or Stanton would do a lot better than Kolb there.
