I've never had a "favorite team" and I need one now. As long as I can remember I've just rooted for the Packers NOT because I'm a Packer fan... but because I like Brett Favre. I can honestly say I'm not a Green Bay fan because now that this is most likely his last year I don't know what to do. I will obviously root for them (mostly Favre) this year but once he is gone, I could care less about that team. Sooo... I want a favorite team and can't choose one. Besides rooting for Favre I have also rooted for a few teams that I have decided to choose from.

New Orleans Saints (don't know why but I've always liked them)
San Diego Chargers (CA team)
San Francisco 49ers (home team)
St. Louis Rams (explosive offense and good run game)
Pittsburgh Steelers (I just like Big Ben and Willie Parker)
Denver Broncos (watched for Plummer but like the team now)

So yeah, any suggestions? If you're a fan of the team, tell me why I should chose that team.

just find a team and stick with them. never mind the players that come and go. i guess from your post you live in CA. so pick a team from out there. someone close.

you have plenty to choose from. lets see, 49ers, Raiders, Chargers, north of you, toy have the sea hawks, to the east you have the cardinals, broncos, you have plenty to pick from.

just do it..................................

Stay with 'The Pack'. - Although there is a good argument for just disbanding the NFL entirely when Favre retires, we must keep our chin up. The Packers are the only team not owned by a greedy owner. Everybody in Wisconsin owns like one share in the team. When I lived in the Bay Area, 49ers practices were so closed that if you flew over one in a helicopter, you would probably be shot down with artillery fire! I spent 1991 in Shawano, Wisconsin - about 30 miles from Green Bay. Man, those guys held open practices and invited people to watch and families went out there and could mingle with the players and stuff. That is what sports should be all about - a team of the people - the fans! The Packers are the greatest sports team because of that. I had been a lifelong Cowboys fan, but after that year I spent up there, the Cowboys are #2 and the Packers will always be #1.

If I were you, I'd pick the Chargers. There, you'll have a lot of experiences as a fan. You'll get to see a great team with a young, developing quarterback and a very good defense that takes a lot of the pressure off of him.

More than anything, you'll get to be a fan of one of the all-time greats in LaDanian Tomlinson. If you embrace the Chargers as your team, you'll fall in love with his talent and personality so fast you won't remember anyone else. You'll probably get to experience him breaking a few more records. Maybe even a few all-time records. Hey, if you're a fan of Favre when he's breaking records, might as well get the next running back to do that. I'm not a Charger fan. I'm really not. I hate them, honestly. As a Colts fan, the only teams I hate more are New England and Pittsburgh. But the Chargers just make the most sense. If I were you, I'd hitch my wagon to LT and the Chargers.

You should root for San Francisco if that is your home team. Bottom line, win or lose. You will have a sense of pride or frustration with others in your city. Plus they are a good up and coming team. For the record I am an Eagles fan.

New England Patriots
1. They win
2. Will winthe Super Bowl this year
3. Best owner and most influential ( he essentially picked the new commissioner)
4. Best Head Coach and Player personnel combo in the league; Bellichik and Scott Pioli ( look how they have reloaded for '07)
5. Tom Brady - gets it done on off the field.
Team oriented and focused - tell me when you have seen a Patriot player in the news for off the field issues? Most recent I can remember is Ty Law in 2000 (ecstacy in bag, caught at border, claims it was his cousins bag, paid fine)

Packers have been sad since 1996 about the last time Brett looked good in the playoffs, when was the last time the Pack was in post-season? A lot to like about their history, but the present Green Bay club is awful.

Charger's would be a good pick except for Norve Turner??!!
good with personnel, not much success as a coach, but the Chargers are loaded for '07.

You're obviously an offense kind of guy so I'd say go with the Chargers. Tomlinson is amazing and they're a real SB contender team.

I'm a giants fan... so you'd get to make fun of me for the manning trade too! lol!

New Orleans Saints.
I've been going to games my whole life. I bleed black and gold

Reasons:
1) We don't suck anymore
2) Good guys on team that do a lot for the community (i.e. Drew Brees, Deuce McAllister, Reggie Bush, Scott Fujita...and they're good.
3) The Falcons are assholes and we will crush them
4) Black and Gold Super Bowl
5) Reggie Bush (I mean c'mon)

I'm a Lions fan, but based on your options, I'd pick the Chargers. They are good, I've always loved their uni's and they have the most dynamic RB since Barry Sanders, so you be plenty entertained when watching the games

49ers because they're you're home team....So, when you root for the 49ers, you're not just rooting for the team, you're rooting for your city.

I used to love Dan Marino, and that's why I liked the Dolphins. But when the Carolina Panthers became my home team (i live in NC) i had to go with them.
