Talk to your dr--he needs to know you are still in pain because it could be a complication of the surgery. Or it could just be your body getting back to normal. But tell him. He may prescribe you something else just so you don't get addicted.

I had pain for 7 weeks. It's been almost 9 months and there is still residual pain when I stand up too quickly. If it's been 3 weeks and yuo're still on the lortab, I'd go to the doc and describe the pain fully and see if there wasn't something else going on. I was off the lortab after 1 1/2 weeks - but it made me loopy, so I had to stop taking it.
They probably won't refill the Lortab.
Good luck! Call your ob!

If the pain has left and then come back, I would suggest seeing your dr. you could have an infection or other problem that is causing the pain. With my c-sects, the pain only lasted about 1 - 11/2 weeks. I don't think he would refill 40 lortabs without seeing you first.

I had residual pain for about 4 or 5 weeks after my son was born. My doctor refilled my prescription once with the same med, then when I was still having pain he prescribed tylenol with codeine for a different option and a lower dose of meds.

If you are still experiencing pain, I would talk to your doctor. If it's cramping and period like pain, then that's normal, as your uterus is still shrinking and your cycle has to get back up and running. Also, if you are breastfeeding, breastfeeding may cause some cramping as well. You really should be off of your pain meds by now, I actually never had any pain meds brought home because they made me sleepy.
To answer your question directly though, It took me a good month to get back to feeling 'normal'. But it is a good idea for you to get off of your pain meds, or maybe cut your dose in half to start.
Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon!

sounds like you were or are ovulating its painful when it happens the first time after not having a period for so long. you can ask your doctor for more pain meds but most likely wont get anymore. take four ibuprofens that should help and call your doctor and let him know about the pain you could have an infection
