I want to become an actor lyk on t.v and stuff but...?

but... how old do you have to be does it really matter? and how do you start i mean i really want to do this but i need help! plesae answer my question!

You need to continue your education. Get into acting classes because training is important. Get into theatre productions, student films and whatever else you can to build your resume, then get an agent.

Do not go to John Robert Powers and places like that because they are just overpriced classes that make promises they do not intend to keep. They lie to get your money, stay away from them.

If you want to find a legitimate agent to represent you for commercials, TV & film go to Sag.org. Use the dropdown menu on the right labeled 'resources' and choose 'agent information'. On the next screen, on the left choose 'Find a SAG franchised agent' and follow the directions. You can look up agents all over the US, but there are higher concentrations where the work is and Florida does have it's fair share, at least to start off with.

Then you can send them your headshot, resume, and a cover letter stating that you are seeking representation and wait to see if they call you in for an interview.

Once you have an agent, they will get you the auditions, but until then you can check out actorsaccess.com. You can also see if your state has a film alliance. Sometimes they post audition information for projects filming locally. For theatre, you can go to backstage.com or http://www.actorsequity.org/castingcall/... If you find the audition on the Equity site, you still may be able to go, as long as their not taking appointments from equity actor's only :-) On backstage.com you have to pay to get all of the info, but the initial search is free and you may be able to see enough info to find out the rest on your own without paying.

I'm an aspiring actress as well and I would love to get a big break on T.V. or in the movies too, but all i can say is that only one factor comes into play when becoming an actress: luck. It doesn't really matter how old you are or where you live. Some fabulous people will always stay in their hum-drum jobs and some completely untalented people will become famous. Try to become involved in community productions and do school drama productions. Don't do something just because you want to be famous; do it because it brings you joy and fulfillment.

Take acting classes and audition for every theatre production, musical, etc that you can get your foot in the door for. Don't underestimate the experience that community theatre and school productions give you. Pay attention in your English and Music/Dance classes at school. Read plays and learn to understand scripts. Read acting theory books (An Actor Prepares by Stanislavski is a good starting point.)

You can start acting as young as a day old, or at the age of 100, there are roles for every age and type. That said, don't expect to be famous, or even successful, overnight. It takes years and years of study to be fully prepared: don't expect to stumble into something big. Lots of talented people never get a break and end up waiting tables for decades waiting for their big break. Lots of untalented people sleep with the director and get famous because of it.

Hard work will get you the farthest in acting, learn everything you can, get all the experience you can, and have self-discipline and drive, and you'll go as far as your talent can take you.

A lot of people think they want to be actresses and actors but they dont really know how tough it really is. Acting is an amazing thing, but you have to make sure its what you truely want. When you try out, make sure you have high energy, smile a lot, are prepared, give DEEP emotions, have LOTS of stage presents and confedence. Take yourself out of the charector! Once you get your part you arent yourself anymore you ARE the charector! Once you decide you are an actress you cant chnage your mind, you have to be sure! Acting isnt for everyone so always have a back-up plan. Also be prepared to not always get what you want, because no matter how hard you try, sometimes someone can try even harder and win.
