getting a negative early home pregnancy test, then going on to test positive later?

I just need to hear that there's still hope.

I'm 11 dpo and of course tested negative this morning. I have dull, mild , constant cramping, feels a little like burning in my abdomen. I had super sore nipples for a week after ovulation but that's gone now. Last cycle I had pink and brown spotting that I mistook for implantation bleeding 4 days before AF.

I'm going crazy wondering if every little twinge is early pregnancy symptom or PMS. Any personal experiences would be appreciated. Thanks

I took countless numbers of pregnancy tests, starting when I missed my period because I just knew that I was pregnant. For the first 6 weeks of testing, all my tests, both home and blood, came back negative. Finally on the seventh week, it came back positive. I simply didn't have enough of the pregnancy hormone for a test to detect. It happens to a lot of people. I'd say to just wait a little longer and test again. Good luck, I hope you get the answer you want.

When me and my husband started trying I drove myself insane trying to figure out all the symptoms and signs I was having. I took a 1st response preg. test 4 days before my period was supposed to come and it was negative, the I took another 2 days before my expected period and another negative. I had given up and assumed that my symptoms where just pms and resigned myself to the fact that me and my husband would just have ot keep trying. Then my period didn't come, I was spotting so I still had my doubts, and thought it was stress from worrying about it. Then I decided to test a after I my period didn't seem like it was going to get heavier like it normally does and it was positive!

So just stop stressing, I know that it is easier said than done, but it will happen and you will be so happy that you will almost laugh at the anxiety that you caused your self for no reason. Drink a cup of chamomile tea and take a bubble bath, and just enjoy this stage of exitement and anticipation, because you will never again get the kind of experience and the joy of finding out that you are going to be a momma for the first time.

Good luck and many prayers to you. :)

I took a pregnancy test one day after my missed period and it was negative then I took another test the next morning and it was positive (because I was pregnant). I think the reason the first test showed negative is because I didn't take it first thing in the morning. Doctors recommend you do the test when you first wake up because you don't have anything else in your body at that time that could affect the results.

well i have some of your experiences right now. my last cycles in June for the 8-9 was like the last day barely anything. i get my cycle for full 7 days and June was barely 2 days. i was nautious and had the increase sense of smell. the minor pains here and there in the abdomen also. sore nipples same as you for few days. now am waiting for July 8th to come around and see what is up. i tested negative on 3 tests so far. i have that feeling like i am going to puke and i don't. last week i could barely eat without feeling sick. guess you will have to wait for the next cycle to come like me. i is stress full just as trying is stress full. i wish you luck as i do my self. seems we have something in common. it is hard to get advice from people because i hear so many stories from other women and they all had different experiences. as we do. we have very close symptoms.

In an effort to try and be helpful to you, I'd like to share my experience with you. It sounds to me like you are really keeping track of this, down to how much you are bleeding. This can be good AND bad. I know that for me, when I was TTC, I DROVE MYSELF CRAZY... Really! I mean I was so obsessive it was insane! I know I made the makers of hpt's rich! Unfortunately, the more I tried, the more I would get pseudo pregnancy symptoms, I would even lactate! The more let down I would become when I was not pregnant! I even did fertility treatments and did not get pregnant! Finally, when I gave up and just let it go... I got pregnant!
My advice (not that you asked for it!) Is to just try to relax! Let nature take it's course! Yes, I would track the ovulation and yes, I would test once a month if your period is late. Other then that, don't drive yourself crazy because I truly believe it does more harm then good! I put myself through it for years! Please don't do that to yourself! Enjoy the process of TTC!

If you are late with your period, take a test.
If it is negative... Enjoy trying again!
Very Best Wishes!

My best advice is to stop taking all these pregnancy tests. I also kept getting so upset everything it showed negitive. I told my husband that I was done counting days and taking ovulation tests and what not. If it happens it happens, and that month that I stopped worrying about getting pregnant, I got pregnant! Everyone told me it'll happen when you stop thinking about it and just relax and have fun trying. And they were right! So that's my advice to you! I'm 20 weeks now and loving it! Good luck!

i had many of the same symptoms, but unfortunately it wasn't pregnancy like i'd hoped. it was an inflamation of the reproductive tract which was actually keeping me from getting pregnant. the dull pain got worse, however and turned into a sharp pain as the weeks went on. then it would just go away. the next month it'd happen all over again. i'd get it checked out. best of luck :)

Read the early pregnancy symptoms that people have posted, all before a missed period. I know someone who tested negaitve at 11DPO, but the next day got a positive result. Good luck.
