Great choice! Acting is an amazing thing. When you try out, make sure you have high energy, smile a lot, are prepared, give DEEP emotions, have LOTS of stage presents and confedence. Take yourself out of the charector! Once you get your part you arent yourself anymore you ARE the charector! Once you decide you are an actress you cant change your mind, you have to be sure!

My suggestion is to get as much training and role experience as you could. If there is a High school in your area for the performing arts I'd say go to it because there is a lot to know. You have to build your resume and just be friggin awesome.
Singing is a big thing as well, most shows require some sort of singing these days so I would suggest that you get a singing coach or a voice teacher if you haven't really sung before, Build up your dancing. That is always a plus. The more Ballet and Jazz you have the better. all other dancing forms come from Ballet, but you probably already know that.
I would say just keep going on and audition for EVERYTHING you possibly can. You want to show people your package and all that you have to offer. After a while when you are really good and you've won a couple of awards, and you think of yourself as a tripple threat, then move. Move to L.A. or to New york but don't rush it. Get lots of roles first and all the training you can and do TONS of research on the business. Actors, directors, theaters, play writes, producers, and all that Jazz. it's important to know what to expect and who you are auditioning for once you get out there.
Actors and Actress these days are expected to do it all and I think you are on the right track to ask for help or ideas. The truly smart ones ask instead of trying to do it on their own. But the smartest are to take the advice and make it work specific to them.
Have Fun!!!

Start by joining the drama department at your school. If there isn't one, ask your parents to call the Theater Department of the Universities in your city and ask where you can take acting classes. You have to study acting for 10 to 15 years.
