I think when you drink you actually do what you really want to do. When your sober your just to un-comfortable or uptight or rational to act on your desires.

Not talking about totally drunk where you have lost your ability to function. I am talking about that zone where you still can function and somewhat clear thinking, but relaxed.

Well, I normally don't want to pee my pants.......

I think it lowers you inhibitions, it makes you take risks you normally wouldn't, so I do believe to some point it brings out a persons true character.

Alcohol is a powerful social lubricant it allows strangers to become comrades that other beverages simply do not. Yes, I believe a few cocktails can make a person relaxed enough to act on an impulse they might otherwise have kept in check but that is part of the fun of it. Personally I never saw the point in drinking past the buzz (1drink then 1 water all night to keep just happy) but I have seen some really uptight people become similar to human beings with a glass of wine or two under their belt.

I do not drink, I think I am scared of it....for the reasons in your question. I think if I was to drink, maybe the real me, the person I am and have hidden for a long time might come out.

I guess alcohol relaxes the mind, and you forget what others may think of you

Guys, alcohol effects your brain. It inhibits your ability to think and reason. It is a drug.

So no, when you drink you do what your chemically altered brains tells you to do. Not what you want to do.
